I'm betting the Texas Rangers at -155. The're en fuego, winners of four in a row and 13 of their last 16 games. Dane Dunning has been filthy this season with a 2.06 ERA. Even better, he has a 1.41 ERA in home games. Unbelievably, dude hasn't given up a dinger all season (48 innings).
St. Louis is ice cold. They've dropped six ot their last seven and have scored 3 runs or less in ten of their last eleven games. While researching Matthew Liberatore I found some amazing stats that support him having major issues when on the road. Over the course of his short career, he's been consistently bad in road games, allowing 24 earned runs in 27.1 innings. A short story for you... I'm friends with a MLB closer from the 1980's who claimed that there was a player in the Reds minor league system that was a 5-tool player and had a skill set similar to Mickey Mantle's. He quite baseball... BECAUSE HE COULDN'T STAND TO BE AWAY FROM HIS MOM! No joke. True story! Maybe Liberatore likes to be tucked in at night? Maybe travel fouls him up? Maybe he does't like hotel beds. There could be oodles of reasons. Anyhoo, dude is consistently bad away from home. Lots of variables here that warrant laying the chalk.
In other news, I'm not posting this as a play (won't go on my record no matter if it wins/loses) because I hate the idea of fading Gilbert and Musgrove at the same time, but I'm putting gas station hot dog money on the Mariners/Padres OVER 7.5 runs. There were lots of variables that pointed to a fair amount of runs being scored. None of which I remember right now because it's 3:27AM my time and I'm ready to drop dead. Good luck today!
