Betting: Mets/Giants UNDER 9 runs
The Mets have been playing well but so has DeSlafani. They're also been on a the road for a long time, so a late west coast game may slow their bats down a bit. More importantly, they'll have lefty Joey Lucchesi on the mound against a Giants lineup in which almost all of their good hitters are lefties. And even more importantly than that, these left handed bats have only hit .211 vs. LHP this season.
Add in the nice big ballpark that usually steals home runs and we've a nice mix of ingredients that support an UNDER 9 play. I really thought this line would be 8 or 8.5, so am stoked to bet it at under 9. It's probably 9 because of the lack of confidence with Lucchesi on the hill. He's pitched good in the minors this season (which doesn't mean a heck of a lot) but with all those left handed bats either stuck facing a lefty on lefty matchup or riding the pine, I'll take my chances here. Especially with Oracle Park late at night when the ball starts to die as the night rolls on.
