    Cubs Day Games...Why?

ok, first i'd llike to point out that I am a Cubs fan in the 18-30 age bracket. I have been a Cubs fan all of my life. Fantasy baseball and gambling have made it easier to get through frustrating season after season, bad contract after bad contract.

However, I've been wondering about the Cubs. Why do they play all these DAY games?!? I know its tradition, and one that I enjoy..but truth be told day games are not beneficial to a team, Im guessing one could make a case that they are detrimental, but that research I will not be doing.

Long story....why do they play them?

My hypithesis: Day baseball keeps gamblers busy at work, school, pass time during the day kinda stuff...and also WGN, the station the Cubs play many day games on is NATIONALLY televised. watch a game make a bet, no big deal. I think it is a big deal, atleast for someone.

( I do realize Cubs/Wrigley have ability to pack the place on any given day/night. But it is in my opinon that attendence would rise with more night games. No reason not to, except "tradition" or something more nefarious)

Tradition and I think they're only allowed as per their contract with the city to have only a certain number of night games, for whatever reason. If there's reason beyond that, I have no idea, although I would be interested to know if a stronger homefield advantage for the cubs exists during day games than otherwise. Especially on oddball days for day games like Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with the theory that the cubs players would be more familiar with and prepared for the different scheduling time and afternoon humidity than their opponents, especially non division opponents who don't venture to Wrigley very often...
