Updating my record. On Friday I hit my only favorite play while splitting my two dogs for a profit of 1.03 units. I took yesterday off as I had a wedding and reception to go to. Probably a good thing I did. When I glanced at the games, I don’t think I would have don so well. Sometimes you just need to get luck as well as be good. Feeling slightly hungover, but here it goes for Sunday.
White Sox +123 vs Angels…………..Great pitching matchup. Buehrle vs Colon. Sox have too much talent to keep losing. They finally snapped their losing streak last night with a win. In Buehrle’s last three starts he has a AHW (average hits and walks per nine innings) of only 7, so he is throwing very well. Colon is 3-0 onm the year, so maybe he is due for his first loss. Sox have also played better on the road than at home so far this year, so I am not afraid of going and playing at the Angels. I have just got to take Buehrle here as a dog.
San Fran +120 vs Phillies…………Mark this down. I am not sure I have ever gone again Cole Hamels. I am a phillies fan and I love this kid. The reason I am going against him is a kid named Linecum making his major league debut for the Giants. This guy is supposed to be remarkable. There was a ton of talk about Cole Hamels coming up for the phillies and there is probably more talk about this guy. He has a 101 MPH fastball, with a 4-0 .29 ERA in 4 starts in the minors this season and also has thrown a no-hitter. These two kids should shut down both offenses. Runs will be at a premium, but I have to go with the giant rookie as nobody has seen him before and Cole Hamels has made his way through the league a couple of times now. This should be a great game and it is the ESPN Sunday night game of the week. What really sucks is I never work at night and tonight I have to work from 8:00 pm to 6:30 in the morning.
Under 8.5 (-115) Giants/Phillies………….I never play totals because I suck at totals. I will just count this as a favorite play in my records. I think this total should be 7. Has anybody out there ever seen a total of 6 in baseball? I really think this should maybe be that low. I don’t see a many hits tonight at all. If this game goes over it will be because of guys getting on base via the walk and a couple of homeruns hit. I have probably never felt as strong on a total as this one. But beware because like I already mentioned, I suck at totals….no matte what the sport is.
Washington +138 vs Cubs………….I cannot believe I am taking Washington. I have done nothing but made fun of them all season long. The Cubs are hot all of a sudden too. Ok, lets not get excited. We are talking about the Cubs. Just when you think this team/organization is turning things around and you get you hopes up, they screw things up and lose a bunch of games they should never lose. They guy throwing for the Nats (Hill) is not that bad. If the all of a sudden hot Cubs were going to walk away with this one, would the line be bigger than this at Wrigley? I will take my chances on a lousy Nats team who at least gives 100% every night vs a Cub team who always has a chance to screw up.
Here are a few more that I want to bet on, but they are over my -150 favorite rule. It is killing me not to take these, but I am trying to have some discipline this year. I passed up of three games like this the other day and would have gone 3-0. I really like Milwaukee, Cincinnati and Cleveland.
Good Luck Everybody!!
