    wednesday bases

    FAVORITES (20-27)(-12.57)
    UNDERDOGS (12-15)(+0.54)
    TOTALS (10-9)(+0.40)
    RUNLINES (5-8)(-2.20)
    PARLAYS (5-21-2)(-12.50)

    OVERALL (52-80-2)(-26.33)

4-2 yesterday picking up 1.95 units. Hard to believe two week ago I was in the plus. Hitting three of four totals yesterday helped. Going to change something. I always put two huge favs together on a parlay to save some juice. There very rarely both lose, but I split way too often. So I am going to forget about those and take the teams I would parlay and play both on the runline. The runlines are usually + something, so a split would gain me a small profit instead of losing, so I am going to try that for a while and see how it does. Here are Wednesday’s Winners.

Angels -133 vs Seattle……………Weaver has not won in his last three starts. This is the same pitcher who everybody thought nobody could beat earlier in the year. Facing that explosive LOL offense should get him back in the win column.

Phillies -138 vs Colorado………..Rocks pitcher does not have a good history vs Phillies, especially at Philly. He is also a much better pitcher at home than on the road. I am starting to think Hamels should be the phils number to pitcher instead of number four. Phils are due for win and their bats are due for some runs as well. Tonight is the night. Plus doesn’t a pitcher like De La Rosa and his 5-1 record as a dog vs a team who forgot how to hit look a little too obvious?

Baltimore -123 vs Yankees………..Many my think after Yanks big win at Tampa last night that they could be back on track. Their problems are much deeper than that. Colon is nowhere near what he used to be. Just the fact the O’s are favored vs the almighty Yankees tells me they have a very good shot at winning.

Cincinnati -1˝ (+145) vs Pittsburgh…………Bucs starting to get back to their normal losing ways. HOT team vs COLD team. This is one of those games I talked about where to big for a straight play and don‘t want to parlay it anymore, so I will try the runline. I will take the hot bats on Cincy at home vs the always poor road team in the Bucs. Reds either blow them out today or lose this game. I’ll pick the blowout.

Atlanta -116 vs Arizona………Braves getting healthy again offensively and their pitching has held their own. Now they face a Zona team who struggles to score often and they have a pitcher who has not won yet this year. Cannot pass up the hot Braves even on the road at this price.

St Louis -1˝ (+130) vs Houston……..Another game that reminds me of the Cincy/Pitt game. All or nothing here. Houston wins the game, or it will not be close. Houston has always been a horrible road team. Don’t see the runline coming into play. Cards by at least three.

Texas -132 vs Kansas City…………KC has a rookie starting and Texas has a hot pitcher throwing. Texas bats will be too much for Duffy today. KC after the great start is finally coming back to reality. I think of all the surprise teams this year that have started strong, only Cleveland has a chance to continue.

That is all for today. Thought I would do some write-ups today so when I lose it makes me look even more stupid LOL! Good Luck Everybody!!

Mark...I noticed you have a winning units in underdog plays but around -10 units in favs, parlays and runlines (if you prorate out to the same number of plays). Have you considered more underdog plays?

I'm also curious what you think the Yankees deeper problems are? They weren't scoring runs because Arod and Cano weren't hitting. Last night Arod hit bombs. If you didn't see them one was a moonshot 20-30 rows deep in left center and the other was a laser beam to straight away center. Both would have landed over 420' from home plate. Oh and the Yankees have this habit of destroying the O's unlike Boston and the O's. As for Colon, he actually is throwing just as hard as he used to. He is touching 96 and 97 with his fastball and dominating. It's probably from steroids but that's ok, he's still pitching tonight.
