    LMAO @ the Reds

    sweet.....waited 15 years for THAT????......:puke:

didn't expect them to do much as they don't have a true #1 starter nor any starter in their rotation with any kind of consistency (like to know the last "ace" to start a playoff game who spent 2 weeks in "A" ball 2 months prior), but dude, feel free to look like this isn't your first time with a bat in your hand.

holliday was good, not to take anything away.

I'm glad they won and all, but if halladay didn't pitch today the phillies would have been in trouble too. They didn't exactly do much after about the 4th inning. Howard continues his miserable post season from last year. Again, not going to get too critical because they did win, but was hoping for more out of the offense. I guess we'll see in game 2.

Daws I agree with you. Halladay was phenomenal but if it wasn't for Volquez taking a dump against the bottom of the order with 2 outs it may have ended 1 or 2 to nothing. And I actually think it would have been helpful for the Phillies to get after them again today after their positive juices they had flowing yesterday.

I don't like Arroyo's matchup with the Philly lineup but I think Cincy definitely can score runs off Oswalt. Oswalt has been great with Philly but if you look at who he has faced it is ridiculous slate of pitcher's parks and bad offenses. I mean really, you shouldn't get annointed as a king when facing the Braves (twice), Washington (4 times), SD, Mets and two vs LA. Plus two average starts vs Florida. Cincy is more familiar with him and a much better hitting team against the stuff that Oswalt has to offer. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the over in that matchup and I don't think it's a lock that Philly get's the W.
