A couple for me to start

    NYY -135 2 Units

I really think the matchup favors Sabathia here. He has had great success against the Twins batters and since they aren't the most patient team he should atleast get through 7 innings. That gets him into the 8th with the option of going to Wood for a batter or two if needed to finish the inning. With Wood and Mo being rested they should be able to finish it off. As for Liriano he has had mixed results against NY and while he has been great vs Tex and Arod with the way NY takes pitches he isn't likely to get into the 7th. While Minnesota has been good in the bullpen I think if NY gets Liriano out of the game they odds of winning go up. I'm seeing a NY 4-5 Minny 2-3 final. I may also make a bet on a prop for the first homer being Marcus Thames. He crushes LHP and with the struggles of Tex and Arod vs Liriano I wouldn't be shocked if Thames gets 3 AB's before the first homer is hit.

I think Cincy takes one of the first two games and with Volquez I get an all or nothing starter. Halladay can be hit around and in that small park Cincy could get to him a little with their big bats. And with the price of one game being almost the same as the series price I think this is definitely worth a shot. Halladay will be starting his first playoff game and while I don't expect jitters I wouldn't be surprised if he presses a little if Cincy gets 1 or 2 early. If volquez gets through the first two innings clean I really like their chances. If they get blown up this game I think it would crush their series chances anyway.

God, I hope you hit this one, Franchise. Volquez is truly a wildcard. In the past 2 months, I've seen him get pounded by crappy teams, get sent down to A ball in Dayton and then come back and look completely dominant. He has really good stuff, but absolutely no consistency.

The one good thing for the Reds is that they've got a really, really deep bullpen. They really only need their starters to get through 5 innings without too much damage. Innings 6 on can be a combination of Wood, Bailey, Chapman, Rhodes, Masset and...gulp, Cordero. The depth in the bullpen also allows Dusty to use more pinch hitters.

At this point, the Reds are playing with house money. They just need to lace em up, play loose and let the chips fall where they may.

    GO REDS!! :beerbang:

i am looking at the OVER 7 in that game. Kind of a roll of the dice but think Volquez could get easily roughed up and Halladay can get touched up for a few.

Rooting for the Reds but a tough call going against Roy there.
