I'm surprised to see you on the Cubs. I'll admit that I am surprised that Chicago is favored by as much as they are and in one sense it seems a little inflated but the Cubs lines are typically atleast a little inflated.

But in terms of form and teams going in different directions I don't see how this line isn't closer to a pick. Arroyo is typically pretty solid and he gets to face a really dissappointing Cubs lineup that really isn't scoring much or even getting many guys on base in the last 2 weeks. Even yesterday the Reds leave about 13 guys on while the Cubs leave 5. Dempster has also had a pretty heavy workload the last few games and I would be surprised to see him struggle today with a fairly formidable lineup.

I'm just curious what draws you to this favorite when you so rarely play them.

I have to agree with Chise, but the Cubs have been one of my nemesis teams in the past. I bet them, they lose. I bet against them, they win. They seem so unpredictable to me. It's tough when you have so much talent (or past-talent) and cannot put it together, but can have days of brilliance. Arroyo is also an enigma, but Cincy has done well this year as small road dogs and the Cubs haven't played well against divisonal opponents this season (-18.5 units). Though Arroyo has been well as of late (3.15 ERA last three), Dempster has been better at 2.91 last three... I passed on this close divisional game, but best of luck to you!

Sorry for the delay in response. I am out of town so not on the net too much.

You nailed it as far as why I was on. I thought the line was inflated towards Chicago and I like to bet against Arroyo on the road.

You also nailed the game although Dempster looked pretty good until he lost his control in the 7th.
