    Tuesday 4/24 MLB Discussion

I remember these threads being started for college basketball, among other sports. If this is a bad idea, than shame on me and I won't do this again. However, just really bored right now and figured there were a few others up late as well that would perhaps share their thoughts.

good idea coach.. still up writing a paper so here are some thoughts.

    I love

White Sox -149 and may even take the RL at +105.
Bannister making his 7th career start, first one for the Royals. Vazquez 4-1 1.88 era career vs. Royals and 1-0 1.29ERA in 2 starts at Kauffman. Will likely be my 3-4 unit play.

    Cincinnati +123
I'm a Harang fan and I'd be happy to take him as a dog.

    Toronto -130
    Halladay.

    Tampa Bay +126
I'm not high on the Yanks pitching. This could end up a slugfest but I give the big edge to the DRays with Starting pitching.

    Twins whatever it is
Santana, likely won't bet this -200 whatever it is but maybe the RL.

    Detroit -108
Bonderman w/ 4 NDs so far. 2-1 2.88 era in 4 starts at Angel Stadium, Angels hitting .168 against him..

those are just thoughts but I'll definitely be on the Sox.
    Overall Records

Each play is to win the # of units posted unless it's a dog then I'm betting that amount.

I hear ya Sox, up working on a big report due for my finance class on Friday (damn, am I overachieving?). Anyways, here is what I was thinking.

I definitely hear ya on the Sox, they should get the job done again. You brought up some good stats.
Also was thinking the OVER (9) in the Arizona/San Diego game. Wells is always hittable, esp. w/this young but talented DBack lineup. While the Big Unit can do well eventually, I think he will get knocked around some tomorrow.
Definitely a play on Johan in line, though it will be a lot of chalk to give up - prolly either a Twins RL or no play.
An OVER is definitely a strong possibility in Florida/Atlanta - Vanden Hurk and Redman on the mound? Yikes.

      Just my two cents.

Well, I hate to put system plays in here, and sully the true handicapping going on here, but my value picks worked today. Might ride them again tomorrow from what I see. Here's what it's brought up for me so far.

        - Phillies @ -183 (Should be over -200 against the Nats)
        - Athletics @ +101 (Dogs against Guthrie, are you kidding me! Braden = screwball)
        - White Sox @ -146 (Should be over -170, liking another big play here)
        - Indians @ +208 (Already been beat once, Johan is -175 at best in this one)
        - Astros @ +109 (Houston shouldn't be the dog here, Maholm is junk)
        - Braves @ -107 (It's Vanden Hurk's last start, should be closer to -130)
        - Rockies @ +186 (No way is El duque an elite -200 pitcher, I say -160 at best)
        - Padres @ +136 (Battle of the 43 year olds. Pads should be little dogs, maybe.)

        - Leans on the Brewers @ +151, Reds @ +120, Dodgers @ -150

        No value in the AL I guess... non-picks = NYY/TB, SEA/TEX, DET/LAA, TOR/BOS

So for what it's worth. Rock on.
