      Thanks PF3....
Hopefully that Brewers game is on ExtraInnings or WGN tonight....I would really like to get a closer look at this Vargas kid.

Dude is striking people out at a SUPER high rate that is for sure....

All of a sudden that Doug Davis trade that never made sense to me is starting to make a lot of sense from the Brewers Stand Point.....

        GL tonight JB!
BTW, game is on WCIU to the area, so I doubt I can even see my Cubs choke away the game tonight in Chambana.

GL JB! Let's nail these games! Vargas has really put it together this season, IMO. His K/BB rate is phenomenal and he seems to be emerging as the pitcher Milwaukee wanted when they made that trade.

          GL

I'll be watching the stud kid pitcher for the Brew Crew tonight on Fox Sports Wisconsin as DISH network shows many Brewers games in this market for some reason...:beerbang:

I've seen his prior starts this season and the kid is tough. I'm playing the Brew Crew as well and I look for Zambrano to pitch well but the Cubs not scoring any runs for him. 3-2 Brew Crew is my prediction for tonights game.

Is this the same Claudio Vargas who basically everyone was saying sucked and fading every chance they got the last few seasons when he was with the Expos/Nationals and D'Backs? I can't imagine there are 2 guys in MLB both named Claudio Vargas, so I would assume so, lol.

                    GL with it guys :beerbang:

A kid can't progress, Stiff? Another year under his belt, and he's finally not walking batters. Also, is on a quality team for the first time and not one of the bottom feeders.

Tonight is a good test for him, we shall see!!!

Sure he can progress, but I'm not sure beating the Pirates and striking out 11 in the process is a good barometer....the Flubs roughed him up once already this year, getting 5 hits and 3 runs off him in just 2 innings, and it appears they're on their way to doing it again tonight.

My point was that he was always supposed to be good, and he has never lived up to it. He's a basically just sinkerball pitcher, and although I haven't seen him pitch this year, he didn't have much else.

I just know a little about him because I WAS an Expos fan, and he came up with them a few years back, and pitched a few seasons for the Expos/Nationals before moving to Arizona, and then now to Milwaukee.

For sure he pitched for Arizona cuz he was traded to Milwaukee in the Doug Davis deal....MUST be the same guy.

LOL...I have been calling him Fernando.....
                          I guess thats a boxer...Fernando Vergas.

Either way he is getting roughed up by the Cubs tonight.....

Looks like this dude flmmkrz was right on the money:

He's tried it once this year already and paid for it. The cubs aren't the most patient line up but they can keep up with guys who want to throw it past them. Soriano also draws back in. Lotta hype on the cubs so I expected a high price but I would've thought at home with Z on the bump it'd be like 175ish so i'll gladly take this line.
