    A penny for your thoughts...

on how to best cash in on "free play" credits.

I won some free play money in the Final Four contest at BetUS and was sort of pissed to see that they don't let me to use "free play" credits to bet on underdogs in baseball. Only chalk or totals.

Which begs the question ... how can I maximize my house money?

Should you bet heavy chalk (like Wainwright last night at -250) and just concede the fact you're only gonna get about .50 on the dollar for winning toward your actual balance?

Just play over/under's and risk losing a few more, but only playing the -105 to -120 most totals are listed at usually?

Any of you math/stats guys want to break down my chances? I'd love to hear what you Jakes in here have to think about this.

try not to bet anything that is a flat number like -4 or o/u 6 because pushes are losses when talking about free plays so make sure there is a half point involved with the bet you decide to make to eliminate the chance of a tie.

See, I knew if I asked smarter people than me I'd get set up. Thanks boys.

Although for the record, I still think it's gay that they put parameters on what you can bet on. Like they need the odds stacked more in their favor.

Sorry, I think it's homosexual. Don't want to offend anyone.

I agree, Badger. At the very least let us parlay things. I mean, you can still limit the parlay (to let's say, a five-teamer) in some ways. Isn't that the point of free plays, though, to wager on abnormal bets you wouldn't normally?

            It is pretty homosexual.

There is a bit more of a challenge with the free plays in that you only return the winnings but once you turn the free play into regular cash you can bet on whatever you choose. These books aren't trying to give away money as much as expose you to their site and services in the hope that you continue to use them in the future. If you just burn the bets on a couple of 5 team parlays you will probably not be back to consider using their book as an option in the future.

Personally I think the most important thing to building a bankroll out of the free play is a good 3-1 or 4-1 day to start either with the free plays or the first day with real cash. I was fortunate that I went 6-0 on saturday and that the money being available at justbet coincided with me heating up for the first time during baseball season. I have since doubled the free play in real cash and now have another legitimate out to see how I like the book.

Unfortunately for Badger it doesn't look like he had a very good start with his free plays at Betus. :ohman:

                NO ****!!!

Anybody know how to remove an MLB-sized fist from your ass?

Holy cow. I don't think I've gone 0-6 since I was in high school. WTF! When I went to bed Texas had a 3-run lead ... f-in bullpen.

Yeah, that was a pretty brutal night, that's for sure. I took some of the justbet free plays and am 4-0-1 there - up about 6-7 units in baseball but haven't counted it toward my ytd... do you guys do that?
