    BOS/ANA Game2 Discussion

Beckett has given up 19 runs in his last 4 road starts (24.1Innings) and coughed up 4 ER in 6 innings at ANA earlier in the year. Weaver has been very good at home this year with less than a 2.90 ERA. Weaver has given up 9ER in his last 4 home starts (23 Innings).

I can't get a feel for this game. I am assuming a total of about 8 1/2 or 9 again. Red Sox TT i am guessing will come around 4.

What are people's thoughts on this game? And please don't say the Red Sox own the Angels because as i said in my thread, this is not the same angels team. And Game 1 should have shown that pretty clearly. I kind of after 2nd and 3rd glance want to come back with ANA again.

on the MIN/NYY game i have no idea. No value in the NYY but can MIN really beat NYY with Pavano on the hill. 10 is a pretty steep postseason total, IMO. I thought the MIN Over4 might be a solid play. Bullpens are all very well rested as most MIN pitchers haven't tossed since Tuesday and the rest have had 2 days off for both teams.

Boston's offense is sleeping. I don't think it was just Lackey and our pen either.
I think the Angel's Offense is much greater than Boston's right now, and even if you give an edge to Beckett over Weaver (which can really go either way)...it's not enough.

I guess what's sealing it for me is the umps. The 1st baseman was on payroll and West was behind the plate calling an uneven strike zone, apparently earning an early Christmas bonus.

Just my feeling. Not doing anything until I see how everything opens up and unfolds...

I agree, to handicap this series and even take 2% into account what happened in past playoffs between these two is misleading. Not only is this not the same angels team, but Boston is a far cry from their previous selves as well. Alex Gonzalez their starting shortstop? Lmfao. Big poopy can't hit without manny behind him, and their pitching isn't scaring people these days. Lester is the best they have, and that didn't work out last night.

Just look how nyy beat em like a drum all year after they got their act together. Biggest rivalry in baseball, and bos wasn't even mildly competitive with nyy. That tells alot about bos right there.

Taking bos to win a road game in this series (and probably even a home one for that matter) is laying your money down and hoping for a team to show up that doesn't exist anymore, IMO.

People playing Boston are riding the name as well as the past.
I was extremely tempted to do so myself this morning, but I fought the urge and placed on Anaheim again.
