Vllrd9393a88wd40- good trade IMO. Im getting tired of watching that 5th spot basically get shelled and have the Halos down 7-0 before the 2nd inning is over. Bell has been awful. O'Sullivan looked great the night i saw him in SF but apparently video is out on him, plus all those guys are leaving the ball up in the zone every start. If you look at Kazmir's numbers, he is usually very good to decent about 70% of the time. His ERA is high because when he stinks he sure stinks. But i will take his stats over any of those 5 hole guys any day of the week. That is a pretty solid rotation if Lackey and Weaver can ever find any long term consistency and Santana maintains his currrent form. Add in Saunders and Kazmir and that is certainly better than any other playoff rotation in the AL IMO.

Been to about 3 halos games this year. A guy i know has great seats behind the Angels dugout and he sells me about 3 games a year or so at face value (dang seats are like 61.00 apiece) which is nice. I have been to 15 of the 30 current parks and i still think that Anaheim stadium is one of the best atmospheres to catch a game in....

Lol, I see TB is tossing in the towel for this year.

First if all I agree though, the Angels need any type of pitching they can get, so good trade. After Lackey, that rotation has been **** after ****. You can't win 12-9 every day in the playoffs like they are now, and without better pitching than they've gotten basically all year, they'll be gone quick yet again this October.

Forget the 5th spot guy of the month, cause they only use a 4 man rotation in the playoffs anyway, but Weaver and Saunders get shelled just about every start. Santana has been better, and will probably be ok now that he's back in form, and while he has his ups and downs, Kazmir will certainly make the playoff rotation to round out an ok, but still very questionable 4, weather its Weaver or Saunders in the 4th spot. Both of those guys have been just brutal this year, and at this point I don't think anyone could know what to expect from either Santana or Kazmir.

Not to sound like a Yankee lover, lol, and you never know how guys are going to perform under playoff pressure except Lackey and Pettitte who have proven they are top playoff guys, but on potential alone, CC, AJ, Pettitte and Joba if he can find the strike zone once in a while, is potentially a much tougher rotation to face come playoff time, imo.

CC does have about a 42.38 playoff era though, lol, but that could have been a result of getting burned out down the stretch and getting lit up last year in the playoffs after pitching every 2 or 3 days just to carry the otherwise ****ty Brewers there in the first place. Time will tell on that one.

But anyway, I agree, nice pickup for the Angels.
