Yea, actually I did play them. For what it's worth, they look like a great play on paper, and they're hot. They even managed to find a way to win yesterday despite getting just 2 hits, vs a LHP, against which they pretty much suck.

I just don't see alot of light at the end of the tunnel for the Twins this year. Not that I think the outlook for the season is great for the A's, lol, but at least they have the excuse that they're young. With another lefty against which the Twins struggle (including being winless when facing back to back lefties so far this year @ 0-5), and the A's facing this Swarzak fellow who has really struggled now that the league has seen him, I think it's got a good shot to win, so we'll see.

The most important thing to me is that the A's are winning because of their pitching, not their offense, which has obviously been not all that good, and streaky at best even when moderately hot. I'd rather rely on good pitching to cash a win than needing a team to score a ton of runs because their pitching sucks, obviously.

Also played the SD/ARIZ under. I know the general thinking is that both pens are shot, Peavy got lit up last time, and Garland sucks, but I see it differently. I think Garland is a streaky pitcher who got it together in his last start, Peavy does not suck, and after playing 18 innings yesterday, these 2 teams might just come out and go thru the motions tonight. SD is also barely hitting again, and is the 3rd lowest scoring team in mlb, and they play in a pitchers park, for what that's worth. I say that because most nights the line seems to compensate for it, since nearly all SD home games have posted totals in the 7's, with the occasional 8 or 8.5 if the pitchers really suck, lol.

Anyway, I could be way off, but that was my thinking there.
