doesnt sound like the Rangers report :bang:

they dont know whether they are in-season contenders or rebuilders, and they manage to let go Teixeira, and pitchers before their breakout season, sign lightning in a bottle pitchers to a huge contract AFTER a really underwhelmingly overrated season aka Chan Ho Park.

THE only good thing is they used A-Rod at the height of his backne shaming (bud selig's words) of the precious game that is baseball, and rode that to the bank until now where his numbers are significantly less with the Yanks LOL

What's the deal with you guys signing Kevin Millar to the minors?
I doubt it will be more than a couple weeks before they bring him up.
Play him in spring training and start the guy...

Everything that team does makes me wanna do this:bang: again and again and again. This season would have been interesting if not for the major injuries suffered by some studs at pitcher.

JML sit back and enjoy possibly the 2nd last or last year youll see the Doc take the mound wearing a Jays uni. As sad as it sounds i would not hold it against him if tomorow he said he would not be willing to play out the remainder of his contract with the jays forget not wanting to reup with them come 2010.

anyone who has never done a 4 or 5 day jaunt to PHX for ST is missing something great...and im not really a huge baseball fan outside of my Reds....i get bored with going to a game after about 5 innings.....but ST and the whole PHX thing/weather etc...is really a great time....and it's pretty affordable too

That's kinda how baseball works, v3. Guys get signed to minor league contracts all the time before the season, and if/when they make the team, then they get their guaranteed money. Happens all the time with veteran players and/or mediocre to bad pitchers. He'll make the team easily, they just can't give him a 40 man roster spot yet.

The Mets have Livan Hernandez nd Freddy Garcia on minor league deals right now, too. It's commonplace.

Yup...Cuse is exactly right. And he's going to be a bench player, pinch-hitter, and insurance...unless he really tanks in the preseason. He didn't have much leverage after getting dumped by the Os, and no real other options. He hit near the Mendoza line the last couple months last year.

Blue Jays were the only MLB team to not sign a new player to a Major LEague contract this offseason. lol. On top of that they lost AJ to the divisional Yanks, lost Zaun to the Diuvisional Os, and lost rotation guys McGowan/Marcum to injury. Going to be a long year...

As for Spring Training....heading to my first ever Spring Training experience this year...heading down to Dunedin to see a few games...
                        (and a Leafs/Bolts game!)
