I am a little surprised because over the past 6 years all we have heard is how Arod was one of the clean guys and there really wasnt much questioning of him from a media stand point. I can't stand the guy as much as the next person and think he is a bitch who is great in the 7th 8th and 9th innings when his team is up by 5 but crumbles under pressure. A few years ago I mentioned to my buddy that Arods career (as he is percieved and liked by fans) will be turned around as he approaches Bonds home record and that the entire baseball universe will be rooting for him to break the record and erase bonds from the record books and any question to who the real home run king is. Now that this news breaks it just adds fuel to hatred filled fire that fans have for Arod. Just what the yanks needed to open up the new ballpark, I hope he blasts the game winner in the first game ever at the new place only too see he booed as he rounds third!
Albert Pujols may the only clean slugger in baseball who not only puts up great HR numbers, but also hits over .225
Albert Pujols is as clean as a $5 hooker in Atlantic City. Come on...
And Billy - I personally don't understand how anyone could think ARod was clean? He has the exact personality and image issues of a person ripe to take steroids. One, all he cares about is himself. Two, he's so worried about his place in baseball history that, much like Bonds, he wasn't going to let everyone else "cheat" and surpass what he was doing. Three, Canseco flat out said years ago that ARod was taking steroids, and as much as people don't want to believe it, Canseco has been right about nearly every single thing he's said about these players. Four, other people than Canseco have also hinted that ARod was juicing for awhile. Five, look at his freakin body, he's enormous and chiseled.
Once again, Jeter comes out smelling like a rose as his "rival" and guy who has a "man crush" on him gets busted, and Jeets just sits back and probably laughs his way to immortality, lol...
I just don't know why any of this is news anymore. And it's laughable when baseball tries to do anything about it because they obviously knew about it a long time ago and turned the other cheek to fill seats in ballparks and sell gear. Miguel Tejada, Chokerod...there is a reason they don't look like Ozzie Smith or Dave Concepcion did.......
I like Arod and i hate the yankees, i think its more because all you hear is people hate on him, and i wanna see him rub it in everyones face.
On the steriod issue everyone knows that everyone was on them and till this day i believe most players still are just not getting caught. If MLB was turning the other cheek then who's to say there not doing the same or atleast tiping players off.
Now im not saying its ok that they took steriods, but i really dont see why people are getting so hot and bothered over something everyone new was going on. It wasnt a problem then why is it now?
