The one thing about betting bases that hurts more than any sport is getting burned by supposed "closers" when you have 2+ run leads going into the ninth. I've lost 3 games and about a 14 unit swing that exact way in the last 2 days....BUT you really have to shake it off, and look at it in the sense that you had the right side picked, and move on...
3 for today...
White Sox -102 (Buehrle) vs Tribe
Really like the Sox today coming off those two bad losses at home. I think they somehow get it done today. They haven't had any problems scoring, and hopefully former ace Buehrle bounces back from a bad 2006 and pitches well. Like so many athletes, he just might find his stuff again....being a "contract" year and all.
Dbacks -120 (Gonzalez) vs Nats
Dbacks a good team this year, and ran into a hot Rockies team. Youngster Gonzalez had a good spring going 5-0. Nats pitcher Bergeinheimer somehow backed into a starting job because of lack of quality competetion, even though he did his best impression of a pitching machine in spring with an ERA close to 7. Hopefully the Dbacks don't sign Jorge Julio before game-time.
Padres -109 (Hensley) vs Giants
SF will compete with DC for last place in the NL this year, IMO. And it couldn't happer to a nice person than Barry. It'll be sweet when he gets the HR record, but is 20 games out of first. LOL. As for this game, I'm backing Hensley. He pitched well for the Pads last year, and could be in for a breakout year...especcially in that park. He really came on at the end of 2006 allowing two runs or fewer in each of his last five starts. Morris winding down his career, who knows what he has left.
