Did the Mets really need 5 runs in the 8th

I guess they were on the over!!! :bang: F'd me over on my under 9.5, I wagered $500 on it...I am happy they won though but why did they have to pull the pitcher and get julio franco to hit...maine was doing fine and it was obvious St Louis cant score! :bang:
