Nope, never had a treo. I had a blackberry pearl 8100 right before the iphone. Long story, but to make it short, the blackberry no longer was functioning, and i had been interested in the iphone for a while, so i got one. WHAT A MISTAKE!! I mean it's a great concept, but it's just not user friendly AT ALL. The touch screen is a pain in the ass, and the battery life is ust pathetic (MAYBE 2 hrs if you're actually using it....and if you let it sit off the charger overnight, it WILL be dead in the am), not to mention it's too big to be held comfortably without sliding around in your hand every time you move. Do you actually like your iphone? Do you have these problems with yours? Or was mine just a defective piece of ****?
So anyway, today the touchscreen develops a huge dead area, and i had just had enough, so i broke down and got another blackberry....but i got the pearl 8120, which is basically the same as the old 8100 but it has wi-fi to connect to the internet when available (awesome - and one of the things i actually did like about the iphone), and the camera and bluetooth features are upgraded.
So, i guess you could say i went full circle....lol....but the Blackberry is just the far superior product, for my use anyhow. Just wish I had known that before wasting the money on the iphone, but like you, i guess i'm a bit of a sucker for electronic products at times. Live and learn i suppose....

yeah battery life isnt so good, it isnt as dramatic as your case.
I like the iphone considering style and sleekness but as of quality Ive gotten much more out of my Treo.
ATT doesnt seem to have good coverage and I dont live in a metropolis so thats a big negative for me.
other than that I havent had any major problems with the iphone its fine by me when I do get coverage.
but the Treo (ive never owned a blackberry) is rock solid, and I think its similar to blackberry only that its more of open software, mines a palm OS so I can put various programs or applications on it.
Ive gotten used to the iphone keyboard but I do prefer actual buttons on my keyboard as opposed to touchscreen.
but I've got both so the only complaint is clutterness lol
