    ~~ BIFF'S BASES - AUG. 15th ~~

Trying to actually put some time into capping these games today since it's a slow Friday, and I've seen my bankroll take a dive lately. Not blaming it on my lack of time, but I know that I've been cutting corners somewhat this past week. Hope I can make my time pay off today. Good luck everyone.

Garza is very similar to Shields in that he has also only posted 4 quality starts in his 11 road matchups and sports an ERA over 5 on the road. Shields faltered once again in Oakland, and now Garza has a much tougher matchup with the Rangers lineup. Millwood was getting knocked around with his nagging groin injury, but he took some time off and I believe wouldn't be back on the mound if he wasn't at least close to 100%. I can't see Balfour being availale today after pitching an inning in all three games in Oakland and Percival re-injured himself yesterday and is back on the DL. This Rays pen who already struggles on the road was overused in Oakland. I think this game comes down to who will be able to score more runs, and with Crawford and Longoria out, the edge is clearly with the Rangers in Arlington in my book. This is going to be my first BIG BET of the year.

After looking deeper into this game I decided to make a play on the side as well. Brandon Webb is a beast, that is well-known, but I don't think he should be laying -150 on the road against a team that has won 8 straight and is above .500 at home with a team that is sub .500 on the road. Simple as that. Wandy is always better at MMP, I just have to hope the pen can hold on to a lead should they get it. If Webb is going to get beat it'll most likely happen in the 6th or 7th inning after everyone has had a couple looks at him. Banking on the Texan teams at home tonight.

Wandy Wandy Wandy... 3 walks in a row... Dunn and Reynolds...

Walked in 2 RUNS! Gives Webb a 3 run lead on only 2 hits... Oh man, after his best start of the year last time out, this might be his worst not to mention his shortest. Sour luck continues as I caught him on the wrong night. Going to be an uphill battle now.

Stros get one back in the bottom half, so I don't feel so bad about losing that PDJ. 1st time I've lost a run in 1st inning prop. 8-0 was an amazing run. Hopefully this is a good sign that Webb is hittable tonight with two hard shots so far in the 1st.

Do you have a problem tampa? Not really a class act coming in here and puking in my thread.

Back from the gym to find Garza having the start of his career... hope the Rangers have some late inning magic planned, because it would appear that I can't buy a run tonight. Or a hit for that matter...
