    ~~ BIFF'S BASES - AUG. 14th ~~

Still have to update from the past 2 days of sour luck. 2 bullpen blown games and instead of being 3-2 and showing a nice profit, I'm sitting 1-4 over those two days and now in the red on the month I believe. Things have to bounce my way sometime.

This number is way too low for Shields and Gallagher. I think the low scoring affairs the past two days are keeping this total under 8, but I'm not gambling with the hook on the 7 either. I'm taking the H+R+E due to each teams weak batting average with runners on base. Only 4 of Shields' 11 day starts have been quality, and Gallagher is feeling the effects of a losing team I think. Moving from the Cubs high powered offense to arguably the worst hitting team in the majors right now is tough to handle. A verteran would go out there and do his job, but a young gun could just get frustrated and make a couple stupid mistakes. A's are significantly better during the day, hope that pans out into this one sailing over.

    RAYS/ATHLETICS - H+R+E OVER 24½ (-115)

Man, I wish I had taken the run total now... too many walks, but I'm still over 1/2 way to my requirement in the 4th inning is a good sign.

Correction: Shields has 4 quality starts in 11 ROAD starts not day game starts.

For those interested, I'm 1 road underdog loss away from stopping my fruitless attempts betting them this year. My records show that I'm $335 away from being down 20% (6K) betting on them this year.

Tampa, unreal game... 17 walks I believe, 6 double plays. Everything seemed to be stacking against me with this H+R+E play... I can't remember the last time I said this, but NICE WORK FRANK THOMAS!

Well, my road underdogs woes continue, now 20-41 on the year, but I have a chance to dig myself out of the hole tonight. If this game loses I'll still have one play left before they are canned for the year. This line is just way to huge too lay off. Rangers offense has shown what they are made of in Boston, no matter how bad things can get they're ready to hit. Clearly a gamble, but this is baseball where anything can and will happen.

Added a parlay as well. Two teams I like tonight, but just not in position to be laying the chalk right now.
