AND laying money doing so with a guy who has given up 21 runs in his last 30 innings over 5 games.

but as always, GL!...and hope my Reds finally win one for you....:beerbang:

While you have valid points FF, I have to say that I saw the game in a different way.

I do agree with you on your points about the Reds, once again, being a mess....and that while 80 to 90% of the time they are going to be a good fade from here on out....even ****ty teams in baseball win their share of games. While I have no idea what Boiler's reasoning was, for the following reasons, i felt the Reds should have been the clear cut fave to win tonight, and that they have a good enough chance to win the game to overcome the posted odds.

The teams Randy Wolf has pitched for this season are a collective 1-10 in his road starts. Houston's bullpen is a full run worse than that of the Reds, and the Reds are a respectable 7-5 in Cueto's home starts, even though he sucks complete ass on the road, and has all season long. Out of the last 5 starts you speak of, 3 of them were on the road, and while he did get roughed up by the Mutts in one of the home starts, the other was average vs the Padres (I don't think anyone in their right mind expects a complete game shut out from Mr Cueto when placing a wager on the Reds with him taking the hill).

Bottom line is that Cueto has a respectable 4.54 era at home overall for the season, and the Reds pen, believe it or not, has a very nice 3.36 era since the all star break, which is good for 8th best in all of mlb.

So, i think it is safe to assume between 3 and 5 runs for HOU tonight if all goes according to plan (we all know that of unfortunately that often doesn't happen).....but my point is that IF the Reds can hold HOU to 3 to 5 runs, they have, imho, a great shot to win the ballgame tonight facing Wolf and a rather crappy Astros pen.

With that being said, the one concern I had in making a play on them is that I think the Reds have quit on the season....again :puke:

stif the only reason i posted this was i was giving BB some ****. i told him 3 days ago they had quit on the season when he was complaining about homer bailey of all people to bet on....lol..... i listen to all their games. it was pretty evident when Dunn turned a long single down the LEFT FIELD line into a triple a couple of days ago by not hustiling and then lobbing in his throw that the season was done. Really when griffey went and then they were swept by WAS that pretty much did it. Their 2 announcers, the postgame show guy and the guys on during the day on cincy talk radio all said the games on i believe sunday and monday or monday and tuesday were the least energy efforts they had seen from the Reds in a long time.

hey look, the reds aren't going to lose every game from here on out, but i just don't see the value in putting money on a team that isn't putting forth an effort. and they aren't. and they are getting smoked already tonight as i put this up. Wolf just struck out the side. What a joke that is. And laying -140 to boot is just wack in my book. but both you guys are doing well so who am i to talk. but it is my team...lol..and i do follow them very closely....unfortunately....lol...but the good news is that everytime i post something the opposite usually happens so enjoy the cincy win guys....:beerbang:

I know you were....and i agree with what you were saying. i was just pointing out the positives to betting on them tonight.

Right now, they're only losing 2-0, that's not really getting smoked, and while losers like Adam "Captain K" Dumb may not be trying, there are alot of younger guys on the Reds (like Cueto) who may turn in a better effort to try and earn jobs/better salaries in the future.

Dusty Baker is probably the worst manager in mlb, however, and I have been saying that since his days in SF, and unfortunately he doesn't have the balls (or brains) do anything about their lackluster effort

all of cincy is down on him and can't stand him. the final straw was when he was afraid to bump griffey down in the order. he also said the other day that this is "wayne krivsky's team not mine". what a leader that is. his best comment of the season was trying to explain leaving his boy corey patterson in the game to face a lefty when he was 0 for 7 in the game. he said he left him in because lifetime corey is better versus lefties. hey moron, he's batting 30 points worse. i can't believe what a clown that guy is.

I bet on the A's who lost 10 in a row and collected a nice 4.8 units.....not exactly a non nerve wracking play.

Cincy blew that game....by the way they are my only play today. I also felt it was a good match up starting pitching wise and as Stif said, the Astros pen blows. Plus, the fact that they are favored when they suck is another reason why I liked them....as I do today with Arroyo, who is probably the most inconsistent pitcher in MLB.....

Not a lot of good match ups today in my opinion.

                        Flyers will mock me, but
