Danks might be statistically better than Lilly in this matchup, but that's where the White Sux advantages end today, from what I can see.
Losers of their last 6 on the road, the White Sux seem to really be able to find ways to lose away from US Cellular field. The fact that they managed just 10 runs in those 6 losses may be a big part of it, and when you compare it to the fact that they have scored 10 runs or more in 5 of their last 10 home games (and had games of 7 and 8 runs per game in there too), obviously something isn't right away from home. Could be the simply quality of the pitching, but, Detroit doesn't exactly have the world's greatest staff right now, yet they held CWS to practically nothing in a 3 game sweep, while the Twins have a decent staff, and the Dirty Sox pounded their pitching to the tune of 40 runs in a 4 game sweep at US Cellular, so it would seem there is probably more to it.
The Flubs, on the other hand, are an astounding 29-8 at home, and even though this is a short turnaround from last night in Tampa, they should be ready to break the losing streak and ease the pain from the ass whooping the Rays put on em down there.
For the icing on the cake, the Flubs hit .299 vs LHP overall, and a whopping .337 at Wrigley, while the White Sux hit a rather sad .235 vs LHP overall, and an equally sad .236 vs southpaws on the road.
I think the White Sux will find the Flubs to be a bit more of a challenge than the hapless Pirates....
