    ~~ BIFF'S BASES - JUN. 1st ~~

New month, and finally the time of the year where I start working on my systems to carry me through the end of the season. These summer months get real busy for me, so after a couple months of play I turn to more proven performance and less situational significance.
Looking for a win to start the month off right...

Burnett has been dominant this past month. He pitched 39 innings and have up 16 and 46 strikeouts in May. This is vast improvement over his April numbers where he went 29 innings and walked 15 only striking out 19. Garland did improve as well giving up 0 HRs in May after giving up 6 in April... still he relies on his defense. While the Angels have one of the best, his BABIP has to rise from .266. The Jays have seen plenty of him, while the Angels have only seen Burnett once in the past 3 years. If A.J. can keep them quiet until the pen comes in, I see a big advantage for the Jays.

    One more play for Sunday...

Robertson and Batista are two pitchers who lack the ability to have high strikeout games. Bonderman used to be better, but has seen a big drop so far this year much like most of the Tigers rotation. The same can be said for both these pens as they are both under 7 K/9 IP. In May these two teams also drew the fewest amount of walks in the AL. They are swinging away and today get two pitchers that have an extensive history against the opposing starting lineup. Both teams know Iassogna is behind the plate and he's got a big zone. Tigers are going to try and do what they do best and get to Batista early, while the Tigers pen w/ their two stud set-up men is far from a sure then in the final innings. Bonderman is 5-0 with the Under on the road this year, and I think he's got a great chance to see this one go over today. While there was only 17 total H+R+E last night (Verlander & King Felix), there was 31 total H+R+E the night before that (Robertson & Silva). I think this game is going to look a lot more like game 1 of this series.

    TIGERS/MARINERS - TOTAL H+R+E - OVER 28 (-115)

Angels come from behind again and get a walk-off hit for the 4th day in a row...

Offense came late, but the Tigs and M's got explosive... so a split on the early plays.

Going to put one more on the board for me tonight. I'm taking some big big odds tonight against Johan. He was hit hard in May after having a solid April. He pitched 33 innings in May giving up 43 hits 9 walks and only 26 Ks. In April he pitched 33 innings and only gave up 26 hits, 6 walks and 31 strikeouts. Despite this the Mets who were on their heels a few days ago went 4-1 in his 5 May starts. I think June is going to get off to a rocky start. Kuroda has been dealt some shabby offense only getting 2.4 runs on average in his last 5 road starts. With everyone pounding Johan this line has jumped into a value range that I can not ignore.

Right on about that LAD line, just a nice value play at the price IMO. Also looked back at some previous season game logs and saw Johan doesn't typically 'turn it on' until about mid-June. Anyway, GL tonight Biff.

Eh, one bad inning w/ 2 outs and the Mets put up a 5 spot. Dodgers just seemed to give up, in fact both teams seemed content as there were bagels the rest of the way. Not the start I wanted to the month, but we're just gettin' started.
