    ~~ BIFF'S BASES - MAY 18th ~~

I already have one play still pending from last night with the Mariners finally getting to the Padres... I like that momentum to keep up today. Not bad odds getting the Mariners at +155 today.

I'm adding the Rangers to go for the in-state home sweep. Backe has only been getting 1.6 runs of support on the road as the Rangers have gone 0-5 in his 5 road starts. Rangers are also 0-3 in his day starts this year with the same poor run support. He's given up a HR in all but 1 of his starts so far this year. With a short porch, he should be in line for a couple today.

Gabbard on the other hand has won all 5 past home starts in Texas (2 so far this year). He's had success here because he's getting the ball on the ground. His Ks have taken a small dip, but with his injury struggles this year, I'm not looking into that too deeply just yet. He got two eventful starts against the M's since coming back, and should be getting better today. He burned me last time coming out early, I'm hoping that doesn't happen again today.

No doubt this Astros lineup is potent, but the Rangers have quietly been one of the hottest teams this past week. It's a shame Hamilton is "exhausted" and resting today, but I still like my chances enough to make this play. Astros have to be a publicly favored dog today after dropping the first two in the "Silver Boot" series. I like Michael Young to have a big day and pickup the slack for Hamilton. I also like the Rangers bullpen over the Astros pen right now. Villarreal's 10 HR's so far this year make every game attainable against the Stros in the 9th. Good Luck.

GL on your non-Tex plays Biff. Backe has killed me the whole year, but I'm going down with the ship and took the Stros. Without Hamilton in the middle, Young prob needs a big day, but he's 9 for 10 career vs Backe..... :beer2:

Well you got a lucky 4th inning Cavorca. 3 runs that could have been avoided.

Now it's my turn for some of these shots the Rangers are hitting to start dropping.

WHY THE HELL WOULD KINSLER TAG UP ON A POP OUT TO KAZ MATSUI?
Down by 3 runs with the 4 hole coming up... talk about shooting yourself in the foot. :bang:

If they keep playing like that you got this one Cavorca.

.. Adrian Gonzalez on back to back nights with a 2 run HR in the 4th. I hope the end result is the same...

Well the Kinsler retard move comes back to haunt the Rangers who lose it in a 1 run game. I was right about Backe giving up a couple HRs though. Glad Seattle was able to take advantage of San Diego who saw all their offense come from two homers from Gonzalez in the past two games. Been a rough rough month so far, hope I can turn things around in the 2nd half. Glad this interlague **** is over.

Making one last play tonight... and I wouldn't make it unless I felt strongly about it with all this crazy ass interleague action that has dealt me some bad breaks.

Perez has had success in Yankee stadium, and the Yanks are putting out 5 lefties against him tonight. He's held lefties to 4 hits in 39 at bats this year with 15 Ks. Wang has been very good at home, and coming off a loss I think he'll be dealing. He' gotten 34 groundball outs and only 13 flyball outs in his last 3 starts. The wind blowing out to right is of little concern as the Yanks bats just don't scare me right now, and the Mets are utilizing Marlon Anderson as their extra hitter. Why not Damian Easly? When Wang gets big chalk at home it's usually a close dogfight, the total as gone under 15-5 in Wangs last 20 starts as a home favorite of -151 to -200. I think Posada and A-Rod are well accounted for in the ML, but not in the total. I don't see either team getting 4 runs tonight. Seems like a typical under 9 total on a sunday night game goading action on the over, so here's one last interleague play... tread lightly. Feel like I've been saying that a lot lately.

          METS/YANKEES - UNDER 8½ (-105)

GL w/ the under Biff. Right play on the total IMO, just liked the +150 payout w/ the NYM a little more. And as for Anderson > Easley...Easley 0 for his L10 and Anderson is 1-1 vs Wang (for whatever the hell it's worth, lol...). Anyway, GL!

Interleauge! Damn league change put me on a 3-6 skid. I'll more than likely just have one play tomorrow. I need to right this ship.

I really should have just laid off tonight and taken the small winning day. I'm not sure why I capped this game as much as I did. I just had the free time. I really regret laying off the Mets and taking the Under instead. I still stand by the Under play, just one bad inning, and Girardi giving up by bringing in Ohlendorf. Still got a long season ahead, not really worried at all... it's just never fun when you aren't winning.

Don't sweat it Biff, it's a looong season like you said. As for Perez, his inconsistency was one thing I actually sort of liked in an odd way. Generally means difficulty focussing IMO more than anything. TV vs rival, Wagner's comments, after a nice W, and a decent mu vs NYY lineup seemed like a spot to focus. Anyway, you're doing fine. Just keep doing your thing.
