  • Friday 5/2 Bases

    St. Louis, Wainwright, -111

It was a very tough loss fo rthe Cubs against the Brew Crew yesterday. And Soriano proved it would have been best for the team had he STAYED on the disabled list. He was 0-4 at the plate, showing his usual impatience, and misplayed a fly ball out into a double, which aided the Brewer rally. And he clearly was having trouble running. But I think Pinella did not want to embarrass him by removing him in the 9th for defensive reasons.
The team should come first, not some sulking primadona like Soriano.

In any event, I think that loss yesterday will have a negative impact on the team and a losing streak is in order. Theu already had lost 4 of 6 before yesterdays 9th inning meltdown. (I was on the Brewers :sm: )

We will see what this Cub team is made of this weekend. But I am siding with the Red Turds in tonights game. Maybe Pinella will wise up, and stop worrting about offending Soriano, and will drop him to 6th or 7th in the batting order.

    Good luck today folks.

Wow...if that is true, then he should be fired immediately. Team comes first.

You see managers/coaches pampering these ego maniacs all the time. It is disgusting.
Lou didn't used to do that. They say he has mellowed. Give me the old Lou. :beerbang:

Amen Moe, I wanna see the old Sweet Lou too! Hes gotta straighten out the Soriano situation and do it fast. It can be a great season on the North Side and Soriano risks f'ing that up.
I wanna wish you luck tonight but not possible.

Ever since that damn Aquafina commercial he's gone soft.

I'm on this one as well Big Moe. I think Cubs backers feeling cheated yesterday are back for more tonight against a guy who got knocked around by them last year... this is a No. 1 at home vs. a guy on his way to the pen it looks like. At -110 it's too good.

I understand where you are coming from. I do not like to root against my Cubbies. But after years of following them, you get a good feel fo rhow the team responds to certain situations. And you are correct about Lou dealing with the Soriano situation asap.

Lets get it in Biff. Great to see you are on the Cards as well.

Despite the 2 run homer for Soriano, I do not think it is the kind of game film he wants sent to Cooperstown. Two misplayed fly balls to add to the one he missed Thursday.

And Rich Hill may have punched his ticket to AAA Iowa with his performance last night.
