    ~~ BIFF'S BASES - APR. 23rd ~~

Staying with two teams from last night, and I might have one new one in the late games tonight. For starters... it is true that Halladay is 6-0 in his last 6 starts on the road against Tampa Bay. What could buck that trend? Playing the game in Disney World, where miracles happen. Back in a bit.

As promised... Looking at the Dodgers tonight, I think I'll wait until I see what Torre does with that lineup tonight before I decide.

Well the more I thought about taking the sure money tonight, I would be kicking myself if this play hit and I laid off. So I'm sticking with my guns. If there is ever a night for the Dodgers to show up and put up some big numbers it's tonight. Andruw Jones is batting 2nd on his birthday.

      LOS ANGELES DODGERS (-105)

      *RISKING $315 to win $300

Sorry my net is running slow...

        GL!

Interesting...Just curious why you feel that way. Why tonight? They are facing the majors best pitching team so far this year, with a solid #1 type starter, and haven't hit worth a **** lately. Also...Andrew Jones batting 2nd? Wouldn't that be a bad thing? The guy batted .200 last year, and .150 this year. lol. Just wondering, b/c I know you can't be capping "birthdays", lmao.

        GL! :beerbang:

Yeah, a little sarcasm there. I definitely wasn't betting on the Blue because it is Andruw Jones' birthday. C'mon man! My net is being run by a mouse in a wheel right now and I got tired of typing my little paragraph after the 3rd time the page stalled. Thought I'd just slip in a fun tidbit.

But since you asked, I'll try and remember some of the reasoning about me liking the Dodgers bats tonight...

Nobody wants to cool off these Arizona bats and start hitting themselves right now than the Dodgers. I can see the Dodgers haven't been scoring, but you have to remember those games were one the road. They were starting to heat up at home against the Padres and Pirates before this past road trip. Also, Haren is on my list of overvalued pitchers this year. However, so is Livan Hernandez and somehow they just keeping winning with him on the mound. (Although he did get smacked some last night).

I'm a bettor who likes it when I hear "Arizona has scored 4 runs or more in all their games but 1, and the Dodgers have only scored more than 1 run in the past 5 games." I believe that's what ESPN had running on their ticker today. I know a lot of people will pick the Diamondbacks on that statement alone, and I think I was right. Fact is the Diamondbacks are hitting .187 on the road against RHP. Here's some splits I liked in this game.

              ARZ Home (11 games - 78 runs = 7.1 runs per game)
              ARZ Away (9 games - 47 runs = 5.2 runs per game)

              LAD Home (9 games - 52 runs = 5.8 runs per game)
              LAD Away (11 games - 35 runs = 3.2 runs per game)

Now, Arizona WILL cool down. They're hot, but they will level out. No way they win 120 games this year. So if they level out, it makes sense to me that they do it on the road seeing as they were the lowest scoring team on the road last year in the NL at just over 4 runs per game. So you can see, for me tonight had all the makings of a Arizona fade.

ONLY QUESTION I HAVE IS... DO THE ROCKIES HAVE THE BALLS TO BLOW TWO GAMES FOR ME ON BACK TO BACK NIGHTS???

(I got smarter and made sure to copy it before I hit submit this time)

Corpas has blown it two days in a row for me, but I have to forget him and move on. He didn't blow it because of me, and he'll blow more in the future, that I'm positive about. With Fuentes throwing good, they could switch, and he knows it. Sure hope he gets his act together for his and the Rockies sake. They are going to have a tough time competing in NL West if their pitching can't keep them in close games late.

Dodgers showed up, glad to see I was right about that... and the 6-0 streak the Jays had w/ Halladay in Florida being snapped. Good day overall, just another bad break like the 3 I had last night. Breaks will come and go, some good some bad, just gotta stick to what has been panning out for me, and let the players do the rest. Back tomorrow.
