    ~~ BIFF'S BASES - APR. 21st ~~

Well, I haven't been too good with these 5 inning lines, but today seems like a perfect spot for another shot. Boston is throwing out a weak lineup against Gabbard who had been very comfortable pitching in Fenway. A horrid 7-8-9 for the Sox today. Buchholz got put into some sort of high valued class with that no-no he tossed last year, but fact of the matter is, the kid is very unproven. This is more of a value bet than anything. I think if the Rangers are going to have a shot at winning this game, they've got to jump on the Red Sox early to avoid the Aardsma, Okajima, Delcarmen possible appearences, and try and get Julian Tavarez instead. Texas has been coming out strong the past two games, and they know they have to do it again today if they want to win. I'm taking the first 5 only because this Rangers pen has blown the lead two games in a row. They obviously aren't fooling the Red Sox, and any Manny appearence would be in the 7+ innings. Good Luck!

Rangers leave 6 men on base in the first three innings and now Nippert in for Gabbard. :bang:

Looking for a miracle now. Push would suit me just fine.

Yea, I just kept thinking about Tex being up by 5 or whatever since I thought about taking them yesterday but passed. Today, just a bad damn break with Gabbard going out. GL the rest of the day.

Yeah definitely got a raw deal in that Boston game. Stuff like that is the reason why they call it gambling. Injuries are an intangible that are practically impossible to predict. I'll admit I think this line looks too easy, as Penny has owned the Reds. However, it's a low price to take a shot at a very good pitcher, and I'm going to give into the idea that this line is a "gift". I see Belisle has been doing well in his rehab starts, but this is a #1 starter v. a #5 sub-starter. I also liked the Marlins, but Hendrickson is too erratic for my tastes. He seems solid so far this year, but that's what scares me. May have one more tonight, may not. Good Luck.

Yup...tough break for us Rangers backers...cause Gabbard was rolling...

          Let's get the Dodgers :beerbang:

I like the fish too...not b/c of Hendrickson, but more of a fade of Morris....GL!

            True Johnny.

Morris has been all over the place with his fastball and when he is getting it over the plate, he's getting hit left and right. Very very tempting.

Shame I didn't take the Fins also, could have turned this mornings disaster into a profitable day, but I'll take the break even. Back at it tomorrow!
