I'm so close I can taste it. Taking another stab at the Cubbies game again today, but I'm on the other side. More of a Rich Hill fade than Snell backing. There's no way I can back the Pirates pen here, so it's a 1st 5 innings bet. Rich Hill's 1:1 BB to K ratio from the spring has carried over into the season. So has his fat ERA. Snell has worked to become the Pirates No. 1 starter this year, where as Hill has been dropped to the 5th spot in the rotation and now has Jon Lieber breathing down his neck. In fact Pinella is already looking for spots to skip him in the rotation in favor of MARQUIS! Hill's got great talent, but I think a trip to the pen might be what he needs to work on his control. I think Lieber is much more effective as a starter for the Cubs, and the switch should happen sometime soon I'm guessing. Snell has been solid for about 60 pitches, I hope that's all he needs for 5 innings today. Pirates have had a much better OPS% against lefties this year and in the past few years, so I'm looking for that factor in today as well. No way do I see this as more than a 50/50 chance for the Cubs, so I'm taking the plus money in hopes that the dogs will keep barking for me. Good Luck. Going to have more later.
*Thought about taking Houston -115 and buying it back later for a sure profit, we'll see if I'm kicking myself for that one. Gotta take gifts when they're given.
