Beat The Streak - $1 Million Prize

MLB is hosting a competition of which you choose 1 batter each day, and if they get a hit you go on. You have to get 57 in a row and they pay 1,000,000

This is insane, but I'm going to try since its free.
Capping 10 games in a row in itself is tough enough, taking the chalkiest team each day.
Picking batting averages and pitching ERA's, your chances are just as good as the lottery if you ask me. 57 is nuts.

    Anyone else playing?

i started doing this the other day aswell, dont put much thought into who im picking just look for the worst pitcher that day and pick someone reliable to get a hit. So far im 2for2 and got a streak of 2. Only 55 more lol.

I had taken Justin Upton for today, but its not looking to good right now. Hes got one last chance, he's batting 1st when Arizona comes up in the 9th.

LOL Zito cheats he walks batters so they dont get to actually get hits off him lol. O well time to start again. The worst is when you got like 9 or 10 games then lose, sucks to start all over again.

I've done this for years. It's impossibly hard. But fun.

What's the highest you got Cuse?

Seems like the plan is to check out all the end of the rotation type high ERA starters off the list, and pick a good hitter with good career numbers off that pitcher, and hope for the best....

Dude, honestly there's no "plan". You're analyzing it WAAAAAY too much. It's complete dumb luck. I got to 18 once I think is my highest, I've never hit 20. I've done it for 3 years I think. I actually haven't done it this year because I just have been forgetting about it.

Only minor advice I can give is ride a guy on a hitting streak until the last possible second then jump ship. It's a slippery slope though, but all in all it's a tremendously fun game that is horrificly impossible.
