I KNOW I DON"T POST A LOT THIS IS JUST A LOT OF OPINION AND WOULD LOVE FEEDBACK
When you look at the hitting I think the overall advantage goes to the indians. Besides the Ortiz, Manny, Lowell combination the Red Sox have too many automatic outs in their lineup while the Indians keep getting big hits 1 through 9. (Not to mention their combo of Sizemore, Hafner and Martinez is arguably just as good as the sox big 3). For them to have any chance Pedroia needs to start producing because without him or Youkilis on the bases the sox will not score runs.
With a Knuckleballer on the mound tonight the game really is a toss-up. Wakefields a big game pitcher but if he leaves a couple hanging this is the type of team that can make him pay. Byrd has pitched well so far in the playoffs. Don't forget that while he has a good record at home he also owned the thrid highest home ERA in the majors at a little less than 6.
For a prediction I think that the Sox are good for about 5/6 runs tonight off Byrd and that should be enough for Wakefield to get through a good 5 to 6 innings and then hand it off to the bullpen. Maybe get a hit out of JD Drew tonight off a soft throwing righty? I don't like the sox being a money favorite in this game which is the only thing stopping my play right now.
Any thoughts?
