    UK Horse Racing

    For tomorrow..08 JAN

    LINGFIELD
    15:00 Bet Multiples - Betdaq Median Auction Maiden Stakes (4-6yo, Class 5, 1m 4f, 9 runners)

This race stands out today looking at the trainer's form in maidens.

Only three trainers in this field have a healthy maiden strike rate since 2006.
    P D Evans, D M Simcock, and S Kirk.
The other 6 trainers are anywhere from 0% and at best 3.7%, 3 wins at best.

    MAYTA CAPAC - D M SIMCOCK, 27 wins from 302, 9%.

    SWEET FELLOW - P D EVANS, 26 wins from 328, 8%.

    VERY DISTINGUISHED
    - S KIRK, 36 wins from 406, 9%.

    Let's see how this goes.

    WOLVERHAMPTON

    16:10 Hotel & Conferencing At Wolverhampton Median Auction Maiden Stakes (3-5yo, Class 6, 7f 32y, 10 runners)

    PERFECT SECRET

    Has two good career runs.
Debut 4TH at Goodwood last May and 3RD at Kempton last month.
Trainer A M Balding has 3 wins and 4 more placed from 8 on the AW last 30 days.

    THE GLAMOUR CAT
Debut for trainer M Botti and previously trained by D K Weld.
Has shown ability on the AW and yard going well with their maidens this year.
Botti is 2 from 2 in maidens, overall 4 wins from his last 5 runners.

    EREBUS
6TH here last time out by 3 1/4L.
Previous two starts was for a lost of 7L so a return here looks positive.
    Nicky Mackay is booked,

Skipping the 5:10 race...but, my token picks are BIG ERIC, CREEVY, then QUE BELLE.

    ==
    SOUTHWELL
13:15 Hospitality At Southwell Racecourse Rating Related Maiden Stakes (3yo+, Class 5, 6f, 6 runners)

    MASTER LEON
Have gone well in three starts at this course, 3RD and 2ND in last two.
This field looks weaker than previous tries and is the one to beat.

    TAMARIND HILL
Good effot here lto and trainer A J McCabe is going well at the track.
McCabe has 7 wins, 13 in total placed from 29 course runs the last 30 days.
His runner was behind by 1/2L in 2ND and 2 3/4L ahead of 3RD CLEAR ICE lto.

    BOY THE BELL
Improving nicely but current form of trainer J A Osborne is not enough to win.
Osborne since July of last year have 2 wins from 127 runs.
But, his runner here has looked to be one of his better runners.
Capable of getting into the top three of this field.
Note that only 6 are scheduled to race.

      TOP 3
      LINGFIELD
      13:05 Bet Multiples - Betdaq Maiden Stakes (3yo, Class 5, 1m 2f, 11 runners)

      BRAVE ENOUGH
Looked much better than his debut when 5Th of 12 at Wolverhampton lto.
He's not been asked much to close his race yet so there's more from him.
Always behind on debut and just pushed along late last time out.
Can be third time lucky if connections decide to ask him for more today.

      SEPTEMBERINTHERAIN
Not raced since November but effort there will do him alot of good here.
In 4TH by 3 1/2L to CON ARTIST at this course from 1m.
2ND was FATANAH from M P Tregoning and Hamdan Al Maktoum owned.
3RD was R A Green WHISTLEINTHEWIND who won next time out by 2 1/2L.

      LOVERS CAUSEWAY

Well drawn at stall 1 for his front running style.
He was beaten by a neck lto in a Novice Stakes at 1m 1/2f, longer trip suits.
A $160,000 purchase, there is likely more to come from this one.

          TOP 3

          BRAVE DECISION
3RD on debut that was run at this course and distance.
sired by WITH APPROVAL, should continue to improve on this surface.
WITH APPROVAL on the AW have a 20% strike rate, 12 wins from 61 runs.
          Owned by Khalifa Dasmal who's last 5 runners finished 1ST, 3RD, 3RD, 1ST & 2ND.
That inlcudes the selections run and all were trained by A J McCabe.

          DUELLIST
DUELLIST is well bred, by DUBAWI and a high-class dual 7f-1m winning dam.
He is half-brother to LUJAIN, BOTANICAL, SATIN KISS and LILIUM.
One of the best days to follow M Johnston maidens here.
Things going against are the draw and he raced at Southwell last time out.
Just one maiden since the end of the Turf season won on Poly from Southwell lto.
Still one of the top prospects and top trainer is capable of beating any trend.

          BURGHLEY
Debutant by SHAMARDAL and first foal of high-class 6-7f winner BADMINTON.
Owner Sheikh Marwan Al Maktoum wins mostly with maidens.
He has 15 maiden wins from 71 the last 5 seasons and just 9/90 from other races.
          Trainer M L W Bell had a good year here in 2009, winning 7 from 28.

              DREAM WIN

Juddmonte Farms Ltd bred OASIS DREAM colt bought for 10,000gns in October 2009.

All are winners with DREAM WIN the only one left to boost the pedigree.

Her record as an owner at the track the last 5 seasons is 7 wins from 19.
That is most wins at any tracks the last 5 seasons for her.

                  ZERZURA
5TH of debut but should improve plenty from that now with T P Queally booked.
Being trained by H R A Cecil, the jockey switch looks very promising.
Also well supported in the market on debut being sent off the 11-8 favorite.

                  CHANROSSA
Well bred Galileo filly who's been 2ND in 4 of her last 6 starts.
Last four runs at this C&D results in four 2ND placed finishes.
Ahead of ZERZURA last time out by 5 lengths.

                  NATIONAL MONUMENT
6TH lto in a Wolverhampton handicap from 3 months off.
Running for the out of form J A Osborne but J P Spencer is booked.
The partnership on the AW the last 5 seasons have 8 wins from 30 (27%).
