    Sportsbooks (Kevin or anyone's opinion)

I'm currently using only one book, betus.com, and honestly I have hardly any complaints with them, they have overnight baseball lines, their odds are consistent with the rest of the books, not very different in terms of getting ****tier MLs or what nots.

only thing is, I havent tried to do payouts with them yet, but I was hoping to do a sportsbook xfer, not because I'm dissatisfied with them, but because I wanted to have a couple of books running, that and they arent a big name, nor did they have a high rating from the service that evaluates books, so I wanted to xfer half or more of my roll to a big name more solid book, just to be safe.

what do ya'll recommend? I've heard b/w 5dimes and betjamaica. I was thinking of the latter.

    thanks for the help!

why betjamaica?....if you are going to that family of books, you should go to Sportsbook - TheGreek Sports Book - Sports Betting, Online Casino, Online Poker, Online Sportsbook ....5dimes is on my **** list, though, they do offer a lot they are a pain in the ass to transfer money with IMO.

I absolutely LOVE BetJamaica. Probably my fav book as far as an all around great book.

They have dime lines for baseball all the way up to -190. I doubt any other book can say that, even Pinnacle. Pinnacle has their 8 cent lines, but they go to 12 cent or more before -190.

Bet Jamaica's lines are pretty much standard for everything else. You won't beat them by getting favorable lines (like you can with SIA), but they don't juice the crap out of everything like some other books do, and their website is really easy to use and simple to find what you want.

And they are owned by Olympic (the Greek), so you know you don't have to worry about payouts.

Easily a top 3 book on the web for non professional players....and we (US citizens) don't have the option to use one of the other top 3 (<a href="http://www.pinnaclesports.com/?refer=xgamsleuth">Pinnacle</a>), so I highly recommend them.

BTW, Bet Jamaica is basically the commoner's Olympic. Olympic favors people who bet larger amounts (sharps), while Bet Jamaica offers similar lines (much better for baseball), but has lower limits than it's sister book Olympic to keep sharp action down. As long as you don't bet 5 grand a play, you'll like Bet Jamaica better than Olympic IMO.

Oh yea, they have their lines for the next day up plenty early as well. I don't think you would have any issue with when the post their lines. Every time I've wanted to play a game for the next day on the night before, they already had it posted.

The ONLY advantages to <a href="http://www.5dimes.com/index.asp?AffId=5D1792429">5Dimes</a> are reduced juice and a ton of options (which are IMO about useless)....and that they have 5 cent overnight baseball lines (which ARE good for the MLB road system we're playing)

I use both Bet Jamaica and <a href="http://www.5dimes.com/index.asp?AffId=5D1792429">5Dimes</a>, so I'm pretty familiar with both of them....and if you don't care about betting on all kinds of bull**** and paying -110 for football and basketball sides, Bet Jamaica is probably the place. Like I said, the ONLY thing I use 5 Dimes for is the reduced juice options, which are still limited. They only offered them on the NBA late in the season, and didn't offer them at all for the NCAA Hoops tourney. Who knows what they'll do once football rolls around.

I really miss Pinnacle though. They have it all rolled into one.

that's funny stif.....i originally was going to sign up with BetJ but kevin told me to go with the greek and i must say it is a very good book......didn't know that about BetJ being the lower limit version (knew they are from the same family)....BUT...QUnit is now a WARLORD so he may need a WARLORD SPORTSBOOK that can take his 10 and 20 unit WARLORD FUN WAGERS.......so maybe THE GREEK IS BETTER FOR QUNIT THE WARLORD.....

Q- screw 5dimes....stiffy is right...for the most part 90 percent of their extra stuff is ****.......i mean who is going to play a hockey game Under 8 1/2 at like -2000?? what's the point. though, i will say this. 5Dimes does offer in game betting for hockey and has some good props so if you were betting hockey i would say they are still the most comprehensive book (though they boned us today). But you seem to be just a "straight wager" type of player who just plays normal sides and totals, so 5Dimes IMO would be completely worthless for you to join. It really is for people who like to play outside the box.......like me.....lol.......

LOL your sarcasm is not lost on me. just know this, with my "warlord" status, and with my unit ratings, I can buy you 10 happy meals (not the mighty kid meals, those cost more!) with 1 of my units.

and to clarify because I didnt mention it before, betus.com though deemed shady by sportsbook evaluators, was kind enough to deposit some bonus in my account this week, so I just used that on the fight, thats whats usually the "fun" part of it.

The main thing I dislike about Olympic is the 20 cent lines for baseball. That really doesn't do anything for someone like me who plays baseball every day. Same goes for BetCRIS. They use 20 cent baseball lines too. Those books use those lines presumably because they have higher limits and need the extra margin in there, but that still doesn't help me any....and I say presumably because Pinnacle has limits as high as either one of those books, and they manage on an 8 cent line for bases.

And yes, 5 Dimes does have alot of bells and whistles that I really don't think are very useful....and their layout just plain sucks ass IMO. Instead of offering a separate wager for over 8 +100, over 8.5 -115, over 9 -130, over 9.5 -145, etc, why the hell don't they just have a drop down box to buy points/sell like Pinnacle? It would be so much easier.

And, I certainly wasn't putting Olympic down in any way....just pointing out that they do have 20 cent lines for bases, since bases are in season right now, and that IMO Bet Jamaica is probably the better book for those of us who don't throw down huge rolls of cash on a single play and require a 100,000 limit, lol.

Does BetJamaica only offer game lines? I don't see any NBA series prices. Good call on the odds, though. Looks like some better prices can be had.

I've been very pleased with Olympic and 5Dimes. <a href="http://www.bodog.com/welcome/67495/sportsbook">Bodog</a> has some soft lines for dogs, so it's best to get an account there, too, although they've been hammering me lately when I rarely bet there.

I've got accounts at WSEX and <a href="http://www.bookmaker.com/?cmpid=3135_380">Bookmaker</a> (CRIS), although they're not funded yet. Maybe soon.

FYI, the reason I probably recommended Oly over BetJamaica at the time is that they hadnt been around long enough and weren't proven in my mind. I'd recommend them now.

Actually, I'd play there before I'd play at Oly. (BetJam has the dimeline baseball)

Furthermore, i've received reports that BetJam is paying out via check very quickly, within 3-4 days. Good stuff.

dan, Bookmaker.com is simply CRIS for American customers.

I just checked out that site, and I say you're better off with other outs.
