Cheapest Vegas Hotel with a Sportsbook

A bit lazy to do the legwork, and wanted to solicit some info on the overall cheapest vegas hotel/casino with a sportsbook.

Something for 2 nights, kind of laidback, not too trashy/smoky with a .99 cent buffet of assorted deli meats or something lol

    thanks

I think there's one called Texas Station with a "sportsbook" where they actually hand write the games on a whiteboard. I don't recall if they had any TV's though. :ohman:
    2010 NCAAF: 10-5 (+4.5 units)
    2010 NFL: 18-5 (+12.6 units)
    2010 NCAAB: 34-24 (+8.6 units)
    2011 MLB: 33-50 (-10.34 units)

*Past performance is not an indication of future results.

I just moved back to oregon 1 year ago i used to live there, when my parents go down i always recommend to them they stay at the sunset station off of highway 95, they got great sportsbook, great clean rooms, and cheap good bufet, also if u want something semi close to strip, South Point casino u can usually get a room there for around $45-$59 bucks a night and they have very nice rooms, 1 free buffet with purchase of your room... plus both of those casinos have bowling alleys and movie theaters for alternative entertainment inside them...:beerbang: during the middle of the week u can stay at sahara and flamingo for really cheap like $39 if u look around

thanks dukies, will look into that! :beerbang:

PI, going to a sportsbook w/o a tv is like going to the rhino without your libido.

we're not going down that road! lol

Q, I make an annual Vegas trip (coming up in February) and if you want to donk around in low limits with a rarely full sportsbook - head to the Plaza downtown. $5 limit on bets, several big-screens and smaller individuals for horses. Rooms can be had for the cheap, and tables are rarely full. Decent slots, $3/5 blackjack, three-card, pai-gow, baccarat. Small $>10 buffet, sandwich shop, McDonalds, and Subway. In terms of drink service, if you tend to tip regularly, you'll get great service. HOWEVER, I'm not sure if the waitresses go into the sportsbook - if not, there is a bar right next to it.

Best of luck, and let me know how it goes!

PS - the Plaza is rundown, dirty, smoky, but cheap and a fun time for a couple of nights. The patrons are rocky degenerates, but it's a lot less flashy than the strip - a big attraction for me.

The Golden Nugget has a smaller sportsbook, but I would guess they're way more expensive. However, I am a huge fan of the decor and it's easily the best casino downtown.

One slight problem with the Plaza--its closed for renovations. My buddies always stay at that ****hole--and calling it dirty is being VERY kind--I stay at the Nugget downtown when we all go out so that I don't have to cab it to and from a room on the strip.
We were out there in October last year and the bathtub in their room would not stop running. They were told as they were checking out that they were some of the last guests to stay there as the hotel was closing for renovations later that week.
Don't know what company is doing the work, but when its done it will be nicer that the Golden Nugget--which after their renovation is a damn nice place for downtown Vegas.
Agree with the sportsbook--The Nugget's is OK, but the Plaza's was the one to hang at.
Trying to convince the boys to stay at the Imperial Place on the strip this year--probably the ****tiest place on the strip, but very close to some decent sportsbooks.

I like the vegas hilton. Huge sportsbook. Free drinks as long as you're betting. Off the beaten path and no annoying crowds.

Q, Polar --- I will be out there on the 10th to the 13th. Last year it was NBA All-Star Weeknd, or maybe the week before - I cannot remember...

Don't mean to hijack this thread... but do any of you guys have any hidden secrets of Vegas? We have two rooms at the IP and one at the Plaza this year. Plaza was comped, I imagine with the six of us going, the IP rooms will be close to comped as well. We like the yarders of margaritas (do NOT get the extra shot of everclear for $2 as that has kicked my ass the last couple of years), downtown with the girls dressed up as clowns. hehe. I have heard of the Hash House a Go-Go at the IP as good breakfast...

Where are you and Polar staying?

NBA All Star will be going on weekend we're there. The 19th-20th

We are staying at Hooters, cheap and close to our fave sportsbook MGM, since it's a low key trip
