    New Mattress - Opinions needed

So my wife and I went mattress shopping and we stopped in the Sleep Number store. Do any of you have one of these mattresses? They are very comfy but VERY pricey. Any opinions?

I really need a new mattress too.

My back is killing me from the non-support and the huge dent in the middle....That's the only thing I take pride in for that bed. :beerbang:

Sleep number or any other memory foam mattress is fine! The drawbacks to these matts are 1) they are expensive as hell 2) and noone really knows how long they last!

The memory foams I have sold have gotten nothing but praise, but you be the judge! It's a tough transition switching from regular coil mattresses to memory foam IMHO!

I personally think coil mattresses will be here forever and provide the best comfort for your back! Here are some top of the line companies to look for when looking for coil mattresses...

Sealy Posturepedic ..... my personal favorite! A great matt with a reasonable price!

Simmons Beauty Rest ..... another favorite of mine with a great price! Their top of the line can get pricey but it's worth it for the comfort you get!

Those are the only two I would really trust when buying myself a mattress! I sold them retail for 15 years so I do have some knowledge and experience!

Dont pay anything over $1100 - $1200 for a queen and don't pay anything over $1500 - $1600 for a king! The memory foam will be priced sky high and I personally feel they are not worth it!

      Hope this helps...

Rothko, thanks for the feedback. Where is the best place to shop for these mattresses? What am I looking for? I have heard that these companies usually make 3 mattresses, low quality, medium and luxury. Is that correct?

The 2 people I know who has had a sleep number, wishes they never got it. Both went back to a coil mattress. But to each his own I guess!?

My wife and I got a Stearns & Foster California King about 4 years ago. Absolutely love it. Comfortable and sturdy....plus, I can roll over twice and still not be near her. Plenty of room if ya wanna get freaky with your women...and plenty or room if you want her nowhere near you while you try to get a good sleep.

I think we paid around $1,500....worth every penny.

              Hope this helps!

All I can say about beds is that its like buying a car. Prices are negotiable. Theyll come way down too as your walking out. You can get them to throw in sheets and pillow cases too.

                ;)

The blow-up doll is usually extra though.

Funny you guys started this thread!

Looking for a new king and the wife wants a Tempur-pedic. No way I'm going to spend that kind of money! Unless it comes with a asian porn-star who puts out everynight! I'm going to look on Ebay and see what they have!
Wife wanted me to ask if anyone has a Tempur-pedic?

Also looking to buy a twin for my little girl. Maybe if we can get 5-10 people together we can get a deal! LOL Kevin see if you can get a sponsor who sells mattress so we can get a deal!

                      Thanks

Damn that Tempurpedic stuff is outrageously expensive....so I found another company with a similar product which is just as good if not better....Cloud 9.....
Never slept better and my back feels grit!

We slept on a Tempurpedic on vacation. It was OK but not great. I can't believe how expensive these things are but I guess you are on them about 1/3 of your life.
