Girl About To Dump Me Due To Sports

Whats up everyone, this is really the only outlet I have and can get feedback from people who understand or have possibily been in the same situation.

The last couple girls I have been with have accepted that I like to spend my weekend nights watching sports if possible, and then I see them after. I'll skip a small game, but won't miss big games of importance, and I won't miss any fights, period.

So this new girl Im with I actually like (didn't really like the last couple, but whatever) and she is pretty fed up with my showing up "after the game". Has anyone been in this situation, or can someone shed some light as to what to do? Was it worth it (whatever you did)? I know it sounds gay posting on an Internet forum about it but I don't really have anywhere else to turn, plus Im sure some people can relate here. I'm only 25 so it's not like Im pressed for time, but I really do like this chick.

There is a huge fight this weekend, and she made it pretty clear that this is my last chance. She took it as "he rather watch the fight than spend time with me", ha, which is true. Girls come and go, but fights like this are once in a lifetime. I just dont want to be 50+, single, over weight, and still "watching the fight"...damn, she put me in a bad position.

    Advice?

Like and love are 2 different things. As far as fights like this, **** there will always be another one. Sports gambling, and sports itself are not bigger than life. As much as we get caught up in it, you will learn someday that kids and believe it or not your wife, will be more important. You just have to learn when and how to get away with what you love to do.

My point is, you are old enough now to know if this girl is "a good catch". If she is then you will have to do the give and take thing. As much as we love sports and gambling, if you're not prepared to stay single the rest of your life you will have to do the compromise thing eventually.

Buddy, this will always be a point of distress and every man has had to go thru it! You can either be a pussy and give up your love for sport viewing or tell her to hit the fckn road jack!

...now, there are those girls who come around and realize your love of sports and let you slide, but those are few are far between! So, it helps if you are rich or have a porn dick which assists in reducing the bitch factor!

If she uses that "game or me" horse**** then she is probably needy and you want to drop that asap! You don't want to be an enabler to her insecurities! Tell her you're watching the game and you will see her afterwards! If she can handle that then boogy on to the next one, pally!

I've been with the wifey for 23yrs, and I still hear, the same bull****... but, after I shout out the C word, all is well for the evening..:beerbang:

most of the time, she gives me my space, to do my thing.. so, on occasion I will spend the day with her...

Invite her, to watch the fight, with you, and give her some action! :jiggy:

@Roth - I swear if I was broke I wouldn't be able to hold any relationship, they just wouldnt put up with me. I can get the one nighters but in regards of a relationship they would probably bounce real quick.

@Flyers - Ha, I dont have a bowflex but I'm not out of shape either. Ya I do like her, but I also want to watch my fight, so that's why I came here.

@HD - She HATES sports, I have to hound her just to change the channel so I can check scores (when its on her TV).

So, I took Larry's advise and told her I would skip the fight (ya, bag all u want...haha) and she straight flipped it on me. "No you can do what you want, I dont want you to miss the fight, I know it means a lot to you, you rather watch it than hang out with me so just watch it etc." So what the hell!!!! I offer, and she straight flips the script. There really is no answer when you are dealing with a girl, I swear, there really is no right answer. :bang:

Thanks for the advise everyone. Larry, I tried, and she flipped it on me. It's a lose-lose situation at this point.

                          2 points of Information

You say you like watching "the fight" do you bet on boxing often, I am looking to get into it a bit because it seems easier to predict 2 people going at it vs 2 teams of 5-11 people I noticed the boxing section on here isnt very active.. where would I get started to get pointers?

Concerning the girl, I hate to say it, but if shes gonna give you crap on this, then if you give up the sports its very likely the relationship will end over something else down the road.. women seem to always find something wrong with what we are doing :)

Haha, I'm North OC. I hate South OC, just not my scene. I stick with Anaheim, Orange, Burna Park, Brea, Fullerton, etc.
Newport, Costa Mesa, Irvine, etc...just not my scene. You know what I'm saying, 2 totally different atmospheres, types of people, mentality, etc.

Mularkeys does have some BOMB food though. Whats up with the Fried Zuchini topped with melted cheese?! Yard House, the Spectrum right? I've been, its bunk. Pretty classy for an over sized bar though.

Ha, Woody's..ya, some old people there. I have Fox Fire down the street from me, talk about old ladies. It's alright though.

                            I know what you're saying though...thanks man.

Ya, I bet on boxing. You DO NOT want to look at it as "2 people going at it". Fights take months and sometimes years to happen. Know who they are training with (sparring partner), their actual trainer, follow their weight, nutritionists, who the cut man is, who is reffing the fights as well as the judges (this info comes out late), the weigh ins, where the fight is taking place, who is promoting the fight. With ALL that being said, you still have the politics. Which fighter is better for boxing? Which fighter winnnig will make more money? There is no centralized sanctioning body in boxing, which we have been asking for forever. Have no central allows each org to be as crooker as they want, and all you can do it take it up with that body.

Imagine in baseball, if something happend the only thing you could do is take it up with the AL East. Instaed, they take it up with MLB and the hammer gets put down. Boxing is so crooked its ridiculous and I've been on the bad end of crooked scoring more than than good, but sometimes it favors you.

You can pick everything apart, know its going to happen and it does. But hey, the judges say otherwise. Or the ref stops is too early. When you are right, you are wrong. When you are wrong, you can be right. I've lost Over/Unders by seconds, on horrible stoppages. I've also had my boxer get schooled and I still won the decision.

There are just so many factors and you really have to follow all of them. Inside info always helps, knowing if a fighter is hurt or not in training, has the flue, etc. I know fights dont happen that often, but we got a good group over there when it happens. MMA has been a little tough lately, but boxing has been kind to me.

I know there really are no "locks" but having a "lock" on a fight is as close as it gets. Put it like this, if you were getting 10K to fight, and someone offered you 5x that to lose and you are a nobody to begin with, ya...you will probably take the dive and leave with 60K.

Then the UDWF system which is what, 5-0 since I started tracking and 3-0 for me since I played
                              Haha...

Join us over there, we got a good group.
