    Ohio St. vs. ND

So ND loses to Stanford (36-38) that badly loses to Northwestern (6-16) that is blown out by Michigan (0-38) that is crushed by Ohio State (13-42).

ND < Stanford < Northwestern << Michigan << Ohio State

Anyone think that ND is going down by less than two touchdowns to Ohio State?

i wouldn't use that logic, but i agree that ND isnt really any good. They've beaten no one and their highlight of the year is almost beating clemson.

If the Ohio State team that showed up against Michigan plays then they will destroy ND. However, I am not convinced that Ohio St will be up for this game and ND might catch a team that is a little hungover from not making the playoffs. This is a game that I want the line to run a bit.....

personally i don't really see any great motivation for ohio st in that game. looks like national champions to a bunch of guys declaring for the nfl draft real shortly to me, so that alone would make it pretty difficult to back them here.

plus they've been as overrated all year as ND ever is/was. i look at their schedule and it's a big pile of crap (the wins), minus the Michigan win in the final game, who was decent this year but no world beater either. other than Michigan, who was the best team they beat? Penn St? Minnesota? VA Tech? Indiana? Yea i know, you can only beat who's on your schedule, but yuck....where are the quality wins?

Anyway, in order to take Ohio St, I think you have to, at the very least, believe they will be 100% motivated....because even if they're an inferior team, Notre Dame certainly will be....

I agree motivation is going to decide at what level OSU plays. There is a reason they may be motivated. These teams are neighbors but don't play each other, and Ohio State people generally think that Notre Dame gets a lot of unmerited attention. Maybe not enough of a reason to bet your money, but I think OSU will not be lacking in motivation in the nice warm Arizona weather.

Lots of motivation here for lots of Bucks trying to impress NFL scouts!!! Not do much Bosa but lots of others!
              EZE snubbed by Heisman voters!!!!
Apple, Marshall, Perry, Lee, Bell, Thomas all looking for the better draft grade!
Meyer is master at getting teams up!

This will be BEST and FASTEST D Irish have seen all year!
ND sig wins are NAVY & TEMPLE!

Biggest deal= RECRUITING!!!! They both going after same kids!
By crushing the fighting Khakis in AA, they have leg up on Jesus Harbaugh, now a chance to watch Kelly turn purple on sideline, his head may explode!

motivation for individual efforts, yes, but that's not always a winning formula for winning team sports. preparation is where I question the attention span and effort of these guys who are leaving after the game, and not all of which may be of the highest character to begin with.

Team motivation depends upon the coach, not something Meyer has been lacking in in the past. As for character, you are delusional if you believe that ND players have better character compared to OSU players. That thinking is simply something to hang on to after being beaten on the field.
