With a new season and a lack of sample size I chose to share my thoughts and theory on a program that I am very familiar with. Born and raised in SW Louisiana with a lack of options in God's country I grew up a fan of LSU and of the SEC. I'm just old enough that my childhood mostly saw success on the diamond for the Tigers. I grew up and married an aggie (a full blooded member of the cult) and have been a season ticket holder for the past three years.
The Breakdown:
Texas A&M has a great set of running backs and one of the best O lines in the country, so look for a heavy lean on the run and extended hand-offs early on with a true fish taking a majority of the snaps. Now that doesn't mean they won't be on the score board, but on the other hand I expect Rice to put up a few for themselves. I expect a halftime score in the neighborhood of 24-14.
2H Theory:
Manziel's 1st half suspension gives him only a game and a half to gel before old Saint Nick comes to town. With that being said I firmly believe that Sumlin will not only play Manziel the entire 2H, but also leave the rest of the starting offense in with him and call the full arsenal of plays also. Combat that with a tired Rice defense that will be playing short of their best linebacker.
What to look for:
If you have an opportunity to play a 2H line giving 17 or less jump all over it as well as the over on any 2H total of 38 or less.
