3-4 picking up 0.40 units on Saturday. Felt like a horrible day and I have no idea how I ended up winning units. At least my rated plays are going as they should. Three units doing very well, two units winning too and my only losing plays are my one unit plays, so I am very pleased with that. It is crazy that we are into week eight already.
Thursday night
Arizona St +8 vs Oregon (one unit) ..I actually like this one more than a one unit play, but I am too scared to go bigger. Oregon is only 2-4 ATS, that is sort of a shocker. I guess the lines makers are giving them too much credit. AZ State is 5-0-1 ATS. I think I read that AZ State led into the 3rd quarter last year, so they have the confidence to hang with them. An outright win would not shock me.
Saturday
W Kentucky -3 (-120) vs La Monroe (five units) ..I love this one so much, that I added a five unit category to my plays. No I am not calling it a game of year though, I dont believe in those. It is a very popular pick though and that scares me, but I dont care. La Monroe is certainly as solid team and are very capable of winning, that is why I dont think this is one of those you get bet a million dollars on it games. I think W Kentucky simply the better team and they are at home. When I saw this line I thought it was at La Monroe. WKU is a sunbelt team that can compete with some of the big boys this year. I see a 34-20 win.
BYU +14 (-120) vs Notre Dame (three units) ..Why is everybody all of a sudden talking national championship game for Notre Dame. They are over rated. BYU is under rated after the loss to Oregon St, that is why this line is so high, but I did buy a half point to take it to two touchdowns. I really think BYU will be able to pass on the Irish and keep it semi close. This one will be much closer than expected. Irish pull out another close on at home.
Buffalo +10½ vs Pittsburgh (three units) ..Let me start by saying I am a Pitt fan. There used to be a day when Pitt would destroy and and all MAC teams, not they are lucky to beat them let alone cover, especially one the road. Pitt has a tendency to play to the level of their competition. There is just something not right with Pitt for the talent they have. It would not be a shocker to see Buffalo win the game.
Kent St -3½ vs W Michigan (two units) .I really dont know what they record is, but I always seem drawn to small home favorites in this conference. I think we are getting the better team, at home and laying under a touchdown. I will take it.
Northwestern +7 (-120) vs Nebraska (two units) ..bought a half to take it to a touchdown. I almost always jump Northwestern when they are a home dog. They just always seem to be in the game when they are at home.
Penn State +3 vs Iowa (one unit) ..Penn State is really flying under the radar. You have to give their head coach a ton of credit for getting these kids to fight as hard as they are. PSU still plays defense, and now all of a sudden they have a passing game. Iowa is usually a boring football team and does usually not beat teams very badly. I look for Penn State to keep it up and win this game outright or at the least I will get a push.
Wake Forest +3½ vs Virginia (one unit) I have been fading Virginia since I bet on them the first week of the season. They just find ways to lose. I really love the extra half point, it may make a difference if Virginia finally decides to win a game.
I actually like a lot of games this week. I am still looking. I may add some one unit plays Saturday morning.
