Iowa Suspensions

Nothing confirmed yet but I am hearing that Iowa may have more suspensions for its bowl game vs. Mizzou.

Line is still on the board at mizzou-1 but may be adjusted soon.

Again, nothing confirmed just rumors for now. Don't know who, what, or why?

The only suspension I have heard of is of their #1 WR DJK (Johnson-Koulianus) who led the team with 10 touchdown catches this season. He was arrested and later suspended and will not play in the bowl game.

I have not heard of any other suspensions.

Missouri is putting a lot of effort into this game. They have been passed over multiple times the last few years....this year they where actually selected by the Insight bowl over Nebraska.

Missouri has been very creative in the way they are selling tickets to the game and it should be a real good atmosphere down in Tempe in a couple of weeks!

Everything is rumors now but supposedly 10 players failed drug tests

Jewel Hampton supposedly kicked off the team for third strike. He was already out for the year anyway. Adam robinsons name has come up often. Other names mentioned have been Marvin mcnutt Broderick binns and Keenan Davis. Certainly no teeth to the last three or four names but it sounds like Hampton is gone

As of now its just the two RB's suspended. If that's the case it's not that big of a loss, as both missed time at the end of the year. Presser tomorrow at 10:00

Iowa's football team may be in very hot water. A ton of rumors and reports have been circulating today, but as of this evening things looked to have died down. Here's everything we know for sure (as of 7:41 EST).

1) In a press release today, Iowa announced that running back Jewel Hampton is transferring and fellow RB Adam Robinson is off the team for the bowl game.

2) A third RB, Brandon Wegher, is also transferring (though it's unknown whether or not this is related).

3) There will be a press conference at 10 AM (Central Time) tomorrow featuring both Coach Kirk Ferentz and Athletic Director Gary Barta.

4) Senior wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos was arrested last Tuesday in a drug bust and suspended from the team.

5) Unconfirmed rumors have been circulating all over twitter that between seven and 20 Iowa players will be suspended due to failing drug tests. Again, this is unconfirmed and is mere rumor.

6) Las Vegas Sports Books have all removed the Insight Bowl from the board, effectively halting all gambling until further information surfaces.

We'll know a lot tomorrow after the press conference. Due to the fact that both Ferentz and Barta are appearing, it seems a safe bet that there will be some big news.
