MiamiOhio(-9.5) vs Akron(47.5)
Akron is bad. But does a team really finish winless. I have no idea. Other than the Lions a couple years again, I had never fathomed it. I think this line is touched up a bit because lets face it, no one sides with a loser like this. So the public is killing MiamiO right now. The line opened at 12.5pts and has been Akroned down 3 points. Does this tell me that people like the RedHawks, but money likes a Zip?
The scoring in this game leads me to believe that Miami plays better in conference games averaging 23 on offense and giving up 21 on defense, opposed to an overall scoring of 20o - 27d.
Akron's conference scoring is 14o - 40d; and overall 15o - 39d. Seems pretty steady.
I just dont see the zips scoring enough points to support the over. phsychologically after a winless season, the offense starts to sag. The physical game doesnt allow the defense to fall off too much, no one likes to get hit, and continue to get hit. Meaning I think Akron's offense will continue to fall off, but the will D stand as is.
Akron did have extra time to prepare. after a season like this, coaches stop killing the kids, they probably got an extra day off, and practises were fun, played some intersquad mini-games. Kids in this position get mentally down so easy, its hard to keep them focused, this kind of stuff and these techniques keep the team rolling when the season isn't. I would not be surprised if they came out swingin hard.

1st Half Akron +6
BowlingGreen(+10.5) vs Toledo(55)
I think this QB situation is great for Toledo. Much like the Hurricanes, the young back-up seems to be producing better than the starter. Terrance Owens is flinging the ole pig skin around the backyard he's the oldest kid in the neighborhood. In 1/3 of the attempts he's already matched the 7 TDs. I know he threw 4 against a cellar dwellar EMich, but thats just the confidence booster a freshman in his position needs. He played well against NoIll, and helped the Rockets post the most points the Huskie D has given up all year.
Toledo has shown it plays MUCH better in conference games than the overall stats show. Makes sense when you see that they played Arizona, BoiseSt, and Purd...just kidding. The Rockets are scoring 32o - 26d during conference games and 26o - 29d overall. They got killed by the 2 teams mentioned.
BG isn't exactly the opposite. 20o - 29d in conference games and 23o - 33d overall. They got trounced by Michigan, and after beating the hell outta Marshall, it makes sense that these numbers were lifted.
Bottom Line: I'm impressed with Owens and expect to see some scoring.
Toledo -10.5

Of course this is just one man's take on tonights games. Good Luck to all
