Cincinnati -8 vs. South Florida over/under 45.5
Cincinnati wants another Big East title. But first must get by So. Florida this week and Syracuse next week before the huge game against West Virginia.
Cincinnati is 3-3 but they did lose @ Fresno St., @ NC State, and @ home to Oklahoma. Those teams are combined 16-3. I guess they could go out and schedule a powder puff schedule and be undefeated but this team is now battle tested and ready for the Big East schedule.
So. Florida has a new coach in Skip Holtz, and I do believe he will have this team where it needs to be, They are just not there this year. As good as BJ Daniels was last year he has struggled this year with Holtz new schemes. So. Florida is 107# in passing and even worse against Div. I opponents. Against Stoney Brook BJ Daniels through for 264 yards. That is more than a 1/3 of his season total. That means So. Florida avg. 108 passing yards a game in their other 5 games, not good. Cincinnati weakness is their pass defense #104 but their run defense is #21. So. Florida must be able to run to be able to throw.
Cincinnati has won the last four in this series including last year 34-17 @ Tampa. Cincinnati also hasn’t lost a Big East game at home since 2007. Cincinnati is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 conference games. So. Florida is 1-4 in their last 5 conference games.
Cincinnati is clicking on offense and has enough speed to keep the one deminsional So. Florida team at bay. I want call this a rout because I believe So. Florida is good enough on defense to slow Cincinnati offense. But as long as Cincinnati does not beat themselves they should win this game. My Prediction Cincinnati 30-13.
