    MP Week Six CFB

    Here we go...

Utah -6.5 at Iowa State (2 units)

I don't think Iowa State is ready to play with the big boys. Outside of upsetting in-state rival Iowa three years ago, I can't recall ISU ever pulling off a big win. They usually pee down their leg in these types of games.

Utah is 7th in the country in total defense and the Cyclones should have some problem moving the ball efficiently. Their other experience against a good defense was against Iowa and they did nothing.

Utah's offense has QB Jordan Wynn back under center and he looked good last week. Utah had 8 different players score TDs last weekend so they are pretty multi-dimension offense. They'll be facing a Iowa State defense that is 84th in the country in total defense. TT put up 508 yds on them last week.

My only concern is that Utah hasn't played anyone decent on the road, but I think they are 10-14 pts better than ISU.

Still capping a few others and will probably add one more later in the week....

GL!...this week......did you see how Pryor said when he got back in the huddle last week all theplayers were like sweet, lets bust some ass and pryor told them all he could do was hand off and maybe drop back on a short pass.

No way is he 100% this week and I think that IU +24 is a strong play, especially given IU's strength is OSU's weakness IMO.

      three things....

IU sucks. (I say this as PU fan but there is truth to it :sm:) They have played nobody. Michigans defense is awful. Ohio State plays much better at home even with a banged up Pryor and I think they tag IU with 40+ even if Pryor does not throw more than 12 passes.

Not sure about playing such a huge line with Oregon after their big win, even vs. WSU on the road on a tease.

I do not think AZ is overrated but more than two TDs with OSU is a decent play.

I don't think Indiana is a good football team, but I think they'll be able to put up some points...at least enough to cover my teased line. OSU will run the ball and then run the ball some more so I don't think they're going to try to light up the scoreboard. Even if IU only scores 10-14 (they should; they are averaging 39ppg), I don't see a watered-down playbook for OSU putting up 42+. I figure the game should be around 31-13 or something in that ballpark.

Oregon I was thinking of playing alone at -36, then thought against it because of the letdown factor and backdoor cover possibility. Even a 42-7 ass whooping wouldn't be good enough. So I teased it down to under four touchdowns...the Wazzou defense is atrocious so even if the Ducks are "off" they'll still put up 40+. I think they realize that they'll need to keep up winning big and sexy if they are to overtake OSU for the #2 ranking. Oregon won 52-6 last year and even sat their starters after halftime.

Arizona is a fine team, just don't believe they are top 10 worthy. IMO they are getting too much credit for the Iowa win because what they've done otherwise is nothing...beat two creampuffs and then get a prayer answered last week at home vs. a mediocre Cal team.

Just my two cents...GL to you as well:thumbs:

Agree w/ you on IU! A whole lot of Tress ball this Sat, IU will score 2 or 3 TD's, buckeyes banged up in secondary as well!!!!!! Pryor injury much more serious than people/media realize.

          Good luck this weekend!

              No kiddin' JoePa...tasty tasty

FWIW to anyone looking at the OSU-Indy game...listened to Ohio sports talk radio all day en route to a work appt today...basically the Buckeyes beat reporters said Pryor is going to play out of necessity because Tressel is so scared of his backup situation. If anyone saw Bauserman come in for those few plays vs. Illiniois its easy to see why. That being said, from the look of it OSU is going to play a conservative grind it out game. Plus, Pryor is not the only one thats banged up right now either.

I still don't trust Indiana enough to play the game +22 but may be time to start taking a look at the under if OSU is going to try to run the ball, milk the clock and keep Indiana's offense on the sideline.

                Couldn't resist...

UCF -11.5 vs. UAB (1 units) WIN

I always love the home cookin' on weekday ESPN games. UCF is something like 5-1 all time SU against UAB...not impressed by UAB's near-win over a crappy Tennessee team. If anything it was demoralizing. UCF just needs to run the football successfully and they should win by two TDs. Say...30-17 or thereabouts.

Tiny little play just to make it interesting tonight...

                    6pt teaser (0.9 units) LOSS

                    Kansas State +17.5
                    Under 53.5

I think the Huskers win this one, but its hard to bet against home teams on weekday games this year. Should be a lot of ground and pound in this one as both teams have good rushing attacks. I see a 28-20 type game with about 400 combined rushing yards.

                      last two for the week:

                      Arkansas -6.5 vs. Texas A&M (1 unit)

Johnson has been a turnover machine for the Aggies with back to back games of 4 INTs. Do that against the Razorbacks and give Mallett a short field and it will be a long day. Should be lots of scoring, but Arkansas is the more polished team. 10-14 pt winners, IMO.

NC State -10.5 vs. Boston College (1 unit) WIN

Pack really let one slip away against VT so they should be out for blood. BC has an absolutely horrific offense, so putting up 14 will be a chore. Eagles defense will keep them in it, but NC St should pull away and hopefully learn how to finish a game properly.

                      GL this weekend everybody! :booz:
