    How bad is the MWC.....

seriously, maybe the worst conference in all of football....their bottom feeders are just awful...and they want a BCS berth...:dunno:

UNLV loses 30-7 at freeking Idaho
CSU loses 31-17 at MAC cellar dwellar Miami(oh)
WYO just gets pasted by Boise 51-6
New Mexico might be the worst D1 program out there.....

Oh by the way...those 4 schools are now 1-11 on the season with the only win coming over Southern Utah....

BYU got shelled last week at AFA and then this week 38-10 @ FSU

TCU, Air force and Utah appear to be the only decent teams in the league

New Mexico is REALLY bad. Expect to see some decent betting value out of them shortly though when they start coming out as +42 dogs lol.

I think that we are going to see even more combinations of conferences to come in the future and probably the wonderful 16 team conferences in some of these areas.

The MWC is just a joke.....BYU and Utah leaving combined with the back end of that league being so bad.....i wouldn't be surprised to see TCU get picked up by the Big12 at some point in the near future.

I could also see Conference USA becoming a 16 team league and having a west and east division. New Mexico, Colorado State, New Mexico State, Utah State etc...joining Tulsa, UTEP, SMU......

The Big Least is not long for the future either IMO. That league sucks and there really isn't a team in that league that makes you go wow in terms of a media market and a following. And give me a break on the Rutgers thing. I think eventually the top teams like Pittsburgh, WVU etc....will jump into the ACC and make that a 16 team league. The ACC has struggled for football credibility for 10 years now and the Big East has had zero credibility since it got raided. I see the ACC splitting into a north/south with the north basically being the old Big East....BC, Pitt, WVU, VTech, Syracuse etc.....

But JMO and observations as always

Anyone remember when CFB was about playing teams in your own area that you had some relevance with??........

There is a huge backlash from a ton of Big East fans that want it to stay together as a basketball conference at the demise of the football end. They want their teams to just go join a football-only conference, or absorb some ACC schools and go heavy in b-ball(Pitt, Georgetown, Syracuse, UConn, Duke, UNC, Maryland, etc.). Obviously that will never happen, but they want no part of messing with the basketball end.

Problem is, it's the football end that pays the bills.......that is what makes the big east so tricky.....football drives the whole thing due to the huge payouts from TV and the BCS. But there is no way not to blow something up...either the football goes or the basketball goes. Something has to give, though, because the BigEast will never be a BCS conference in football and therefor will never get a shot at the huge payouts from bowl games (or a huge revenue TV deal). You can't tell me if given the opportunity that PITT, Syracuse, WVU, Rutgers etc...wouldn't go join BC, VTECH, Maryland, Virginia in an ACC North to have a shot at a major TV revenue deal and a 14M BCS payout. That is the problem.

Personally i think the whole thing is sad that we are even at a point where money is the dictator. But it is.
