    college football week one

    COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK ONE.

Back again for the start of the 2010 college football season. As always I rate my plays with three different categories. Best Bets are three units, Strong Plays are two units and Regular Plays will be for one unit. I normally have 2 best bets per week, 2 or 3 strong plays and 3-5 regular plays. I tend to do better in college than I do pros, but in recent years that has switched on me. I am a small bettor and will not win a fortune or lose a fortune. I just love having a little action on the games, posting my picks in forums and reading what others have as well. Good Luck this season.

    BEST BETS (0-0)(even)
    STRONG PLAYS (0-0)(even)
    REGULAR PLAYS (0-0)(even)

    Thursday, September 2nd

S Mississippi +14 vs S Carolina (best bet)………..S Miss is one of those teams that I almost always take as a double digit dog. Playing tough competition is nothing new for them. They play tough defense and can stay within 14 points I think rather easily. S Carolina has always let me down as a favorite as well. Everything points to the dog in this one to me. S Carolina 24-17.

Minnesota -2 vs M Tennessee St (regular play)………….At first glance I loved MTS, then realized their QB was not going to play, so I will have to take the team from the better conference when you are just asking them to basically win this game.

Pittsburgh +3 vs Utah (regular play)……….Somebody kill me. I am taking Pitt and coach Dave. Utah is a very tough place to play, but I think Pitt is the team with something to prove in this one, so I will grab the three and pray.

    Friday, September 3rd

Toledo +15.5 vs Arizona (regular play)………….Arizona is one of those teams every year that is supposed to be good and never lives up to their expectations. Therefore, I will take the home dog in this one on a Friday night.

That is all for Thursday and Friday. Only the one game I really love. The other three are just to get my feet wet and only one unit each.

I will be back no later than Friday night with the rest of my plays for the weekend.

    Good Luck Everybody!!

      Saturday’s Action

Washington +1.5 vs BYU (best bet)………..I could kick myself for not taking this when it was three, but I really don’t think it will make a difference as the Huskies should win this game outright. BYU does not have a ton coming back and I think Washington’s QB will put plenty of points on the board to get the outright win.

Colorado St +11.5 vs Colorado (strong play)………..There seems to be many people who love Colorado in this one. This has always been a great rivalry and it is mostly covered by the dog. I see the same thing happening again.

Purdue +11 vs Notre Dame (strong play)………..Another big rivalry game. Will the Irish let everybody down again? Probably. It is going to be hard to replace their QB. This just smells like a close game to me and I am going to go with my gut feeling in this one.

Kansas St -2 vs UCLA (regular play)…………This is a popular play as most are on KSU, but I will have to agree on this one. UCLA fighting injuries already this season and Kansas St is a tough place to win. They have given all the Big 8 big boys a tough time in their stadium and UCLA is not as good as they are.

That is all for Saturday. A little scary this first week, you just don’t know for sure who is who.

Back Saturday night with my Sunday and Monday plays.

      Good Luck Everybody!!

Back to update my record Tuesday. Not off to the start that I had hoped.

Boise State +1.5 vs Virginia Tech (best bet)………..I know it is scary playing at Virginia Tech, but I really don’t think Boise is getting the respect they deserve. With pretty much the same team back from last year and a chip on their shoulder, they will come out will something to prove. It might now be easy, but they should win.

        Good Luck Everybody!!
