My worst ever college football regular this year. Hopefully this Bowl Season will be a little more kinder to me. I am just going to keep one season long thread for the bowl season. I took a pass on the Wyoming/Fresno State game.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19TH

Rutgers -3 vs C Florida (regular play)……………..Rutgers has quietly become a decent football program. Considering this is played in the State of Florda and more like a road game for Rutgers, you have to wonder why Rutgers is favored. I think the line tells you who the winner is. Rutgers 27-20.


SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20TH

S Mississippi -3.5 vs M Tennessee St (best bet)…………..Even though this is an early game, it is one of my best bets. I know MTS is a decent team from a smaller conference, but I just don’t think they are any match for SMU in this one. Game will not be a total blowout, but S Miss should not have any problem winning by double digits.


Next Bowl game on Tuesday……..Check back.

Tuesday, December 22nd
Oregon St -2.5 vs BYU (strong play)………………I have a ton of respect for BYU, but I really like this Oregon State team, they had a shot at the Rose Bowl. Pretty evenly matched up game, but I have to go with the team from the better conference laying less than a field goal.

Wednesday, December 23rd
California -3 vs Utah (regular play)………………..I don’t like this game as much as the above game, but I do like it for much of the same reasons. Taking the team from the stronger conference.

Thursday, December 24th
Taking a pass on this game. Just cannot get a feel for it. Merry Christmas everybody!!



Friday, December 25th
No games scheduled. Time to spend the day with family and friends. Everybody enjoy the day off from gambling and hope you all have a very merry Christmas.


Friday, December 26th
Three games scheduled for the 26th. I will be back sometime before this with my plays. Today is my 11th wedding anniversary and it is probably a good idea if I don’t even turn on the internet and spend it with my wonderful wife.

Off to a horrible start this bowl season. Three games for Saturday the 26th. I took a pass on the first game, could not make up my mind. Here is what is left.


Pittsburgh -1 vs N Carolina (best bet)……………Just about everybody is fading Pitt and coach Dave. Pitt always wins when you expect them to lose and loses when you expect them to win and most think Pitt will lose. Pitt could hang their heads, but after last years embarrassing 3-0 loss in a bowl game, I think they will have a much better showing. I don’t trust Carolina’s offense to score enough points here. Pitt by at least seven.

USC -7 vs Boston College (regular play)………………..Not in love with this by any means and I really have no doubt USC wins this game, but will they cover the spread? Talent wise USC should be a winner ATS. Only one unit as Southern Cal cannot be fully trusted this year.


Don’t really care for anybody in that Kentucky/Clemson game on Sunday with all those NFL games to choose from, so I will take a pass. I will be back sometime Sunday afternoon or evening with some more plays.

Tuesday, December 29th

Wisconsin +3.5 vs Miami-Florida (regular play)………..Just going with a gut feeling here. This just smells like a three point game to me, so I will throw a unit on it.


Wednesday, December 30th

Bowling Green pick vs Idaho (strong play)……………I just simple think that Bowling Green is the better team. Idaho went from being horrible to having a very good season. They started off great and then did not play as well in the second half of the season. I think Bowling Green outscores them in this one. Lets call it Bowling Green 37 Idaho 24.

Arizona +2.5 vs Nebraska (regular play)…………..At first I liked Nebraska, but I cannot trust their offense. Should be a low scoring game with Arizona having the better offense pulling the upset.


Thursday, December 31st

Missouri -6.5 vs Navy (best bet)…………I know that Navy is much better than people think, but I really think this is a mismatch. Navy has a strong running game, but once they fall behind, and there is a good chance they will, they cannot pass the ball and catch up. Missouri’s much better passing game will take control of this game and they should win by 2 td’s.

Houston -5 vs Air Force (best bet)………….To me this game almost mirrors the above game. I just don’t think either service academy matches up well vs these offenses. Pass happy Houston will score plenty and even though Air Force may bet their share and cover this spread easily.

Stanford +10 vs Oklahoma (regular play)…………..The Sooners are just not the same Sooners as years last. Upstart Stanford will keep this close. Stanford may even have a shot at winning this game. Then again the Sooners if they play up to their potential could kill them, so only one unit on this one.

Iowa State +2.5 vs Minnesota (strong play)…………Minnesota is a much different team at home than they are on the road. Even though this game is not at Iowa State, I really like Iowa State in this one. I really think the conference they are from is much better than this lower echelon Big Ten team and I will gladly grab the points as I feel the wrong team is favored.

Tennessee +6 vs Virgina Tech (regular play)…………This one also smells like a close game to me. Tech has the better defense, the Vols have the better offense. I will grab the points for a unit.

NEW YEARS DAY GAMES

Going against all Big Ten Teams today. I am just not impressed with the Big Ten this year.

Auburn -8 vs Northwestern (regular play)
LSU +2.5 vs Penn State (best bet)
Oregon -4 vs Ohio State (regular play)


Florida State +2.5 vs West Virginia (best bet)………..Not all that impressed with WVU either and I think FSU will give it their all for Bobby’s last game and get the win.

Cincinnati +12.5 vs Florida (strong play)………..Both teams have their strange little problems right now, but I think Cincy has more to prove and I will grab the generous points here.

My horrible handicapping continues through the bowl season as it did the regular season. My worst year in a very long time. Only a few days left to punish myself, so I might as well continue. Not going to do any write-ups because I really don’t know what I am talking about this year.

Connecticut +3.5 vs S Carolina (REGULAR PLAY)

Got a little back yesterday. Not winning, but now getting killed either. Here are the rest of my plays for the bowl season including the championship game.


Boise St +7.5 vs TCU (strong play)…………..Maybe one of the best matchups of the bowl season. For some reason I have no doubt that TCU wins this game, but I think it will be a battle and the points will come into play.

Iowa +5 vs Georgia Tech (regular play)……………Just a gut feeling this game is won by a field goal. Sometimes gut feelings are the only thing I have to go on and that is the case here. Just smells like a close game to me.

C Michigan -3 vs Troy (best bet)………….I just love CMU’s QB and he is the huge difference in this game. It is that simple.

Texas +4 vs Alabama (strong play)……………Call me crazy, but I think and have thought all season long the Bama is over rated. That may be a strong word, but that is how I feel. Bama has a great defense, but I get the crazy feeling Texas can score plenty on them and I really think we will crown them national champions after this one is over.


That wraps up another college football season. One I would rather forget. Very rare losing season for me. I will bounce back next year.

I almost always do better in college sports than the pro’s, just not this year in football.

Thanks to all you have read and commented this year. It is very much appreciated. Time to start concentrating on college hoops.
