    Soap Box Time

I'm a big fan of the underdog story, I mean who doesn't like a feel good story.

    Appalachian State over Michigan

    Boise State over Oklahoma

    Utah over Alabama

Those are a few examples of classic underdog stories that will continually be harped on, and they deservedly should be always remembered as such.

However, one game in itself is great, but the journey and body of work to get there really irks me when you consider the BCS.

I know they love controversy because if we aren't all bitching about it, then they aren't getting the attention they want.

Case in point, Boise State is number 4 in the BCS rankings.

    1) yes they beat Oregon

    2) yes they are undefeated

    3) yes they may remain undefeated if they can get by LA Tech and Nevada (not exactly mountainous obstacles)

BUT that really chaps my hide lol that just because they beat a slow start out of the gate Oregon team, and are undefeated, that they are above the likes of Iowa, Miami, USC, LSU, among many.

I mean good money can be bet on if they ever go through a sched like say Miami's:

    Florida State
    Georgia Tech
    Virginia Tech
    Oklahoma

and then run into meat of conference sched:

    Clemson
    Wake Forest
    North Carolina
    South Florida

I mean the ACC isn't considered a top 3 conference but certainly the WAC isn't either, no way Boise comes out with more than 1 win going through those first 4 games Miami had to go through. And Miami managed only 1 loss. More deserving IMO

but then again that makes too much sense right, the BCS just cares about $ and the false presumption that they are looking out for interests of EVERY school. I mean the schools control their sched right up to a certain degree? then it's up to the schools to earn respect not look to the BCS to bail them out.

    I'm done. lol

Right there with ya Q!

Don't see how this team is ranked as high as they are.....it must be a love thang!

Saw them against Tulsa and they were very lackluster indeed. Beside beating up on WAC opponents and a very weak schedule against Miami,OH, UC Davis, etc. who have they beaten besides Oregon? They would crash and burn on a schedule with the big boys like LSU, Iowa, etc.

If they truly want respect they should play a "bigger" non-conference schedule not games against the MAC for godssakes unless they are playing CMU. A win over Oklahoma a couple years ago have made them the darlings of the midway for sure which is why they are really worth some big bucks for advertising, etc.

Kind of like the Ohio High School Athletic Association changing regions so they can keep Youngstown Mooney and the eventual winner of Steubenville or Dover apart so they can play in the state finals and get more gate $$$. They know both Dover and Steubenville draw big crowds and want the best matchup possible by keeping them away from Mooney. They also did the same thing in Columbus moving DeSales to the SE Ohio district! WTF!? It's all about $$$.
