Pissing in the Wind NCAACFB Week7

not that i deserve much better than finishing about even every weekend as i've put about zero quality time into handicapping this year, but it's starting to get old...lol....

seem to hit the plays i really like every week and give it back on marginal stuff so going to limit the wardrobe this week....

TLS +10 -110..............4Units..........probably BOIST toughest road game. This game is either a blowout or down to the wire IMO.

WIS -2 -120...............6Units.........probably my favorite play of the weekend. I don't think many people realize that if WIS wins this game they have a VERY good chance of finishing 7-1 in the big10 which may be good enough for a share of the title. They miss PSU and get mistake riddled Purdue at home, michigan at home and then play IU and Northwestern on the road. Probably would be favored in all of those games barring a meltdown. One thing that i thought was interesting was to hear the OSU D-line (which is without a doubt one of the best in the country) say that WIS O-line was the best they had played in a while and that included USC's this year. If WIS O-line can come up with a good game, i see no reason that they lose this game. IOWA has won at Penn State and then is coming off a big night game win over rival Michigan. They have been inconsistent even within big games they've won and i think are a little overvalued at this point. They squeaked by a Michigan team starting a freshman QB in his second big10 road start, and quite frankly didn't do a whole lot versus PSU either (who i think is not as good or as balanced as WIS, but that is just me) WIS is a tough place to play and you can bet that WIS will be ready to play come Saturday. They run the ball well and have a very serviceable QB who doesn't normally make mistakes (INT for a TD last week but he was hit as he threw). I do think the value in this play is below 3. Would not feel as strong if i were laying 4 or 5 so if you like it i would get it now while it's below 3 at just about everywhere.

i am also very tempted to take probably a FG+ with PUR in the 1Q on Saturday. This team has absolutely dominated teams in the 1Q and then inexplicably melted down after that. They have blown 10-0, 21-0 leads the last 2 weeks. But then again it is PUR and i swore after last week i would not touch them.

    GL to everyone!

SFLA -4 -115 (2H)..........3Units........SFLA moved the ball well and outgained CIN by 100+ in the 1H. Pike might be dinged up and not return. I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see SFLA pull this one out. basically getting SFLA +3 for the game after seeing a half and i like the odds.

            GL to everyone!

Was bored and lurking (college hoops and X around the corner) and just had to ask...who would you rather have behind center for your Bucks? Pike or Pryor?

There is a lot of talk in these parts about a possible OSU v. UC Orange Bowl matchup....while OSU clearly has the overall talent advantage, I have to admit it might be interesting (maybe for only people who live in Ohio...but that's me). I think extremely highly of Kelly...Kelly v. Tressel would be interesting if they each had a month to prepare....ok, maybe UC couldn't get a first down against OSU's D...but I doubt it. That throw Pike made on 3rd and 17 from his own endzone rolling left....Pryor couldn't make that throw in his wettest and wildest of dreams.

what's up nigel.....how about them bengals first of all (been a while since i could say that to anyone...lol).

i think Pryor stinks...i think he's possibly the most overrated QB to come out of HS in ages. He makes dumb decisions and makes a great throw about once a year. He looks great against IU and Akron and all the dregs but put him up against the good to decent teams and he stinks. I think CIN would struggle to block OSU's front 4 and pike would be counting stars on his back most of the night, but OSU's offense is terrible. I think they have no real solid gameplan each week and i honestly don't think they know what to do with Pryor to make him successful. He is not very accurate most of the time and he really isn't that fast honestly. I can't tell you how many times i've watched him get strung out this year. I really see no improvement in him from week to week and he is the same guy he was last year and he's been starting for a year and a half now. I think that OSU needs to call more quick plays to get the ball to WR's via screens, quick slants etc.....the more time that clown has to stand around back there and look at the field the more he screws up....don't let him think. He can't read the play anyway, so just tell him where to throw it.

Bottom line is that if you can't move the ball on offense, you leave every team in the game and i think CIN/OSU would be a good game on a neutral field. I think CIN has some good weapons on offense. Just think that OSU's D is a little much for them this year.

so what's on tap for X this year BTW in their first year without Miller? He's getting some great talent into Arizona from what my Arizona buddy tells me. Doing a great job so far.

                        iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'm done.....lol......

had enough. never really got into the season from a betting standpoint and have no desire to do so. i spend no time anymore at this and the results show. lost about 6 units this week and have been pretty much pissing in the wind as the title says, breaking even or losing or winning a little each week.

it's funny, i really used to get fired up about gambling and just not that way anymore. so i'm retiring to bet some hockey and be a contest whore...lol....might do CBB, not sure yet.

enjoy the rest of the season...

there is honestly only 1 sport i can beat every year and beat like a drum and that is college softball and baseball. i won about 90+ units between those 2 sports again this year.

i think having done this and looked around at everyone else doing it, you don't win consistently in the long run. for every great season you have a mediocre one. i can point to all sorts of guys on this site as an example. i think if you did this full time and really really did it the right way, you could probably scratch out a profit most years, but no time and no interest in doing that. honestly, i would have gotten away from betting a couple of years ago and this site as well if not for a lot of the people i've met in person and interacted with on this site. we'll see how hockey goes.

CAL game looks pretty good right now BTW if you're still interested. i'll shoot you an email on it this week. enjoy the AZ/UCLA game....
