You can't touch a QB anymore. You can't put a lick on a receiver anymore. I remember when football was a tough game. Brutal. See that great hit by the Bulldog on the Cowboy receiver inside their own 10? Perfect defensive football play, and flags come flying from everywhere.

Yea, I thought that was a great, and clean hit. Shoulder to chest. I mean what do they want the guy to do? He had to make the hit to knock the ball out. I guess he should have just let the receiver catch the ball. By the time you're in college, if you choose to run a 20 yard crossing route....guess what....there are going to be safeties there to meet you. If you don't like it, don't run em.

OSU may have won anyway, but that call iced it away. Instead of 3rd and forever around the 40 (give or take), it's 1st and 10 down around the 20 and the defense is demoralized instead of hyped up. Total game changer.

The total is pretty much a tail play of some of the info i read in the week 1 discussion thread and Flyers Fan's thread. I liked what I read, so I went with it.

With VT, it may or not be a mistake, but I just had to do it. I know the trends with their horrible road record vs top 5 ranked and all that, plus how they're supposed to be outmatched tonight physically in the trenches, and all that very well may be true....but I read over as many of the threads this afternoon as I could to try and get caught up a little, and I couldn't help but wonder....is there anyone at all here on VT? If there is, I don't think I saw it. So why hasn't this gone to +7 or more? I guess time will tell, but I just had to take those pts.

Nice call to basically everyone here who had Alabama. They should have won that game by 30, and it was just plain ugly to watch the 4th qtr when it looked like men vs boys with ALA just doing whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted to do it, on both sides of the ball.

Over the brutal loss yesterday. 1 loss is just that, 1 loss. But that one hurt. It hurt double too cause I was gonna play COL ST +11 in the later game, but passed because I was just too annoyed to watch any more sports for the day.

Both of these lines look fishy towards the dog, imo.

Cincy returns many key players on offense form what I read, while Rutgers returns far less on that side of the ball. Cincy was the better team last year too, having gone 11-2 in the reg season and earning a New Years Day BCS bowl berth, while Rutgers struggled its way to a 7-5 reg season and a birth in the "who gives a **** except us bettors" Papajohns.com bowl.

So with Cincy having the better year last year, which i think certainly sticks in people's minds, and seemingly more reason for optimism again this year, why is Rutgers favored by so much?

So I'm laying the -4.5.

Miami/FSU is "always close", so why nearly a TD spread here?

I think maybe because FSU returns the more experienced and better QB, plus the entire O-line if I am correct. The biggest keys to making any offense run. FSU always seems to have a quality D, so although they have some new faces this year, it's not a real concern for me. Definitely not as much of one as much as the Miami O, whom should probably struggle to move the ball consistently tonight.

In any case, i'm avoiding the "fishy" +6 (now +6.5 at alot of places) for Miami, and laying the points with the 'Noles.
