NORTHEAST ACROSS MUCH OF INTERIOR SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI AND PORTIONS
OF SOUTHWEST ALABAMA THROUGH 300 PM THIS AFTERNOON. MOVEMENT OF THE
SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL BE TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 40 TO 45 MPH. A
LARGER AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
THAT HAS DEVELOPED INTO MORE OF A BROAD LINE WILL BE STEADILY
ADVANCING EAST TOWARD SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI AND SOUTHWEST ALABAMA
THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS. THE SEVERE THREAT WILL REMAIN LOW
THROUGH 3 PM.
THUNDERSTORMS WITHIN THIS LINE ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY
THIS AFTERNOON AS THEY MOVE TOWARD THE AREA. THE LEADING EDGE OF THE
MAIN LINE OF STRONGER STORMS IS EXPECTED TO EXTEND FROM NORTHERN
CHOCTAW COUNTY...ACROSS NORTHERN WAYNE COUNTY...AND INTO NORTHERN
PERRY COUNTY BY AROUND 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON. THE LINE WILL CONTINUE TO
ADVANCE EASTWARD INTO PARTS OF ALABAMA WEST OF I-65 THROUGH 6 PM. THE
THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL INCREASE SOMEWHAT LATE THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING AS THE LINE APPROACHES.
BEFORE THE MAIN AREA OF SHOWERS AND STORMS ARRIVES...RAINFALL AMOUNTS
WILL GENERALLY BE ISOLATED AND VERY LIGHT. BUT...WHEN THE MORE
WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINS MOVE INTO THE AREA LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND
EARLY THIS EVENING...TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES WILL BE LIKELY.
